Hello, hello.
First off, we'd like to say that your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. The time, effort, and expense of traveling to be with us is something we deeply appreciate, and we are so thrilled that we will be able to celebrate this happy occasion with you. We are grateful to have a lot of the "essential" home items a newly engaged couple needs. We hope you find this registry as a way to help us make our perfect honeymoon come true! While Andy and I have taken a few trips together, we are very much looking forward to our first real adventure as husband and wife. It is because of the lifetime of memories we will gain from this trip that we finally settled on a honeymoon registry.
As some of you may know, Andy and I began dating while I was interning over in Melbourne, Australia. Much to my surprise, Andy actually came over and visited! I fell in love with the country and was so glad I was able to travel around with Andy. In addition to touring Melbourne, we made it to Sydney and Cairns. Unfortunately, neither of us got to experience the Outback. The Red Centre, with it's sacred Uluru, would be quite the sight and we can't wait to travel back and visit more of the country. The people, lifestyle, sense of adventure, everything! We loved it all!!
Before Andy made the trip to Oz, I had a free week and decided to backpack New Zealand. NZ is by far the most beautiful country I have ever visited! In a whirlwind trip, I visited both the North and South islands. I would love to take Andy to Queenstown and have him ride through the Milford Sound. There really aren't words to describe the beauty - and I'm not even a nature person!
Anyway, it is our dream to get back to Australia and New Zealand, but it's certainly not going to be cheap. Andy wants to see the fireworks display in Sydney on New Year's Eve, so we are looking to travel this coming winter (their summer). I was bit by the travel bug many years ago and now I'm making Andy my travel companion for life!
We'll do our best to document our experience via photo and send some pictures your way after the trip. Thanks again and we can't wait to see you at the wedding!
Love,
Natalie & Andy
We're going to Sydney, Ayers Rock, Melbourne, Queenstown!
Sydney is awesome and it'd be pretty sweet to start/end our honeymoon by watching their fireworks display to kick off the new year!
Uluru is a large sandstone rock formation located in central Australia that is considered sacred to the Aboriginal people. The outback would be quite the experience! Eating dinner, sipping wine, watching the sunset - I don't think it can get much better than that.
I fell in love with Melbourne while I was interning there. The zoo is awesome :) Don't worry, there are plenty of other things to do there than just go to the zoo. The MCG is a huge stadium I never got in to so I'd love to attend a sporting event there (provided there is an event while we're there). We never got to travel the Great Ocean Road or visit Phillip Island to see the penguins and these adventures are definitely on our bucket list!
Queenstown is a phenomenal town on Lake Wakatipu. Queenstown is known as the Adventure Capital of the World and bungee jumping was invented there. Neither of us are exactly thrill-seekers, but the view of the lake and mountains is stunning. A bus would take us to the Milford Sound where we'd be able to see an unlimited number of water falls (well, depending on rainfall).
