Family & Friends,
You. You're it. The greatest thing we could ask for as a wedding gift would be you, celebrating with us. We are quite sincere when we say that this event wouldn't be the same without you. So, thank you. We know how far (and with how many toddlers!) some of you have to travel and we are looking forward to nothing so much as sharing our celebration with you.
After years of being the confirmed bachelor and dedicated spinster, Chris and I are lucky to have collected all the essentials a pair of old marrieds could ever need. And then some. See also: an apartment with no more closet space! So, to that end, we have gone a little bit... non-traditional. We hope you find this registry as a way to help us make the dream of an amazing honeymoon getaway a reality.
We are so excited about embarking on this adventure together and we can't think of anything we would enjoy more than spending time making our first memories together as The Griffiths. Whoa. How do you say 'husband' in Italian? We've been working so hard to build a future that we - and our future family - will be proud of. Ten days together (no work! no school! no chores!) will be such an exquisite gift - one that we will appreciate and remember forever. Or until we get old and start forgetting things (kidding!).
We promise photos and long, detailed descriptions of our favorite gelato moments.
Thank you again. We can't wait to see you at the wedding!
Love,
Heather & Chris
We're going to Italy: Rome & the Amalfi Coast!
Ah, la dolce vita! When it comes to the sweet life, the Italians are the experts. Food, drink, afternoon naps - we can't imagine anywhere better to spend a lazy, romantical honeymoon.
For the first few days of our trip, we'll be wandering around Rome where one wrong turn invariably leads to a dozen amazing surprises. And twenty gelaterias. The Vatican! The Coliseum! The Trevi Fountain! The leather goods shops! Seriously, is that magical or what?
From Rome we'll catch a train south to Napoli and then on to Positano where we will wile away our days at a cozy little seaside bed & breakfast. Day trips to the Isle of Capri and Pompeii seem likely. So do sleeping in and sampling some of the local bests-in-show: wine, olive oil and limoncello. We'll explore the pebbled beaches and rocky grottos of Positano, taking time out for a little food exploration as well. And gelato. Lots of gelato. Also on the list is an amazing mountain-top town called Ravello and someone wouldn't mind a peek at George Clooney's cliff-side villa. What? Chris thinks George is a good lookin' dude.
When we've gotten our fill of perfection, it'll be another train ride - north to Rome for our trip home. And if we haven't gotten our fill of the sweet life? Well, we promise to write often.
