We spent a lot of time thinking about how we would set up our registry. What would be the most meaningful to us? After a lot of discussions and consideration, we came to the conclusion that many of our best times together have been on trips. We feel a great way to start out life together is with many new and unique memories. Our trip to Australian and New Zealand will give us memories we will never forget. We hope you can share in our excitement of the new adventures we are beginning together.
We can't wait to see everyone in October! Thank you for visiting our registry.
Bryan and Sarah
P.S. - You may notice that our honeymoon is scheduled 2.5 months after the wedding. Sarah will be starting a masters program at Duke this fall (very exciting!), so the holiday break is her only chance to get away.
We're going to Australia and New Zealand!
After a 23.5 hour trip from New York, we will arrive in Sydney, Australia's most well known city, the birthplace of Sarah's grandmother, and the city where her grandparents met during WWII. We will be in Sydney and the surrounding area for six nights. The first four nights we have reserved a very nice suite, blocks from Sarah's grandmother's childhood home and Bondi Beach. We plan to see the harbor, hang out at the beach, eat good food, spend time in Sarah's grandmother's neighborhood, and adjust to the timezone. We hope to take a couple of days to visit the Lower Hunter valley near Sydney, home to over 140 wineries.
We leave Sydney on December 23rd to fly to Cairns, Queensland in northeast Australia. This stop is for seven days. Cairns is an excellent starting point to visit the Great Barrier Reef. Here we can be active or just relax on one of the many beaches. We hope to spend a few days snorkeling, perhaps even staying on one of the tropical islands, and exploring the surrounding area which includes Daintree National Park, the worlds oldest tropical rain forest and home of many unique Aussie creatures and plants. We're also looking forward to spending Christmas together on a tropical beach!
We will fly to Auckland on the 30th where we will meet up with Jenni, an exchange student who lived with me (Bryan) and my parents for almost a year when I was in high school. She has been trying to get me to visit New Zealand ever since. We will be in NZ for ten days spending time in and around Auckland as well as Queenstown on the South Island. Wineries, beaches, amazing hikes, adrenaline adventures, and many more unforeseen memories await us.
