As nonprofit arts professionals who love adventure, Claire and Max have made the most of their small vacation budget to explore the Colorado Rockies on weekends off. Now, with your help, we'll get to do something we've never been able to do together: hit the beach!

Six days in Costa Rica will be a first for both of us, and we can't wait to explore the rain forests, beaches, coffee plantations and national parks of this beautiful country. It's been a wonderful treat to look forward to throughout this crazy year, and we're so grateful that our friends and family are willing to help us get there!

We realize this may be a new thing for some of our loved ones, but we figure you know us better than anyone -- you know how much we love having new experiences, trying new foods, and exploring new places. We hope you'll feel proud contributing to our first trip abroad together via Traveler's Joy!

We're going to Uvita, Costa Rica!

We've heard from friends that the section of Costa Rican coastline between Quepos and Dominical is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Central America. For a guy who loves snorkeling and a girl who loves boats, the national parks of Costa Rica's west coast are a dream destination!

We've always found a renewed sense of joy and a deeper level of connection with one another in the great outdoors. We can't tell you how much we're looking forward to six days in this beautiful natural setting! We'll go kayaking and canoeing, hiking and swimming, and, yes, snorkeling. Max has even threatened to teach Claire how to surf.

With so much to see and do, we're hoping that this becomes the first of many trips to Costa Rica in the years to come. It's never been possible for us to plan an international trip together until now, and it means the world to us that our friends and family will be helping us get there. We can't wait to share stories of our adventures with you when we get home!
