Aloha everyone!
First off, we'd like to say that your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. The time, effort, and expense of traveling to be with us is something we deeply appreciate in our hearts, and we are so thrilled that we will be able to celebrate this happy occasion with you.
We have been blessed to have a lot of the "essential" home items a newly engaged couple needs. We hope you find this registry as a way to help us make our perfect honeymoon come true! While we have taken many exciting trips together, we are very much looking forward to our first real adventure as husband and wife. It is because of the lifetime of memories we will gain from this trip that we finally settled on a honeymoon registry. We greatly appreciate and will fondly remember these gifts for years to come. After all, the memories from this honeymoon will last a lot longer than a new set of wine glasses (especially at Steve's breakage rate!).
We'll do our best to document our experience via photo and include it in your much-deserved "thank you" note.
Thanks again and we can't wait to see you at the wedding (or earlier!).
Love,
Sarah and Steven
We're going to Kauai, Hawaii!
Kauai, known as Tauaʻi in the ancient dialect, is geologically the oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands. With an area of 562.3 square miles, it is the fourth largest of the main islands in the Hawaiian archipelago, and the 21st largest island in the United States. Known also as the "Garden Isle", Kauai lies 105 miles across the Kauai Channel, northwest of Oahu. This island is the site of Waimea Canyon State Park.
The island of Kauai has been featured in more than seventy Hollywood movies and television shows, including the musical South Pacific and Disney's 2002 animated feature film and television series Lilo & Stitch, Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch, Stitch! The Movie, and Lilo & Stitch: The Series. Scenes from South Pacific were filmed in the vicinity of Hanalei. Waimea Canyon was used in the filming of the 1993 film Jurassic Park. Parts of the island were also used for the opening scenes of Indiana Jones' Raiders of the Lost Ark. Other movies filmed here include Six Days Seven Nights, the 2005 remake of King Kong, and John Ford's 1963 film Donovan's Reef. Recent films include Tropic Thunder and the biopic of Bethany Hamilton entitled Soul Surfer. A scene in the opening credits of popular TV show M*A*S*H was filmed in Kauai (you may remember a helicopter flying over a mountain top). Some scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides were also filmed in Kauai.
As you know, we both love an active travel experience with plenty of culture. We have heard great things about the island of Kauai, including its natural wonders and rich cultural heritage that, combined, make it an exceptional eco-tourism destination.
We have decided to focus most of our time on the south shore of the island and will be staying at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa. Lush gardens and dramatic waterfalls set the mood for an experience that is nothing short of spectacular at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa, a stunning AAA Four Diamond Kauai resort at which we will create our own personal retreat using the vast array of exceptional amenities available. Ideally set along the picturesque shores of Keoneloa Bay, our dramatic 50-acre Kauai hotel and resort offers total seclusion and easy access to everything the Garden Isle has to offer.
We can't tell you how excited we are for this honeymoon. We've included some of the activities and experiences we'll be enjoying below. Thank you so much for considering a gift toward this once in a lifetime experience!
