Welcome to our honeymoon registry! We hope you will be joining us in September on the day we will recite our vows and become husband and wife! Rain or shine, warm or cold, sun up or sun down, it will be a beautiful beginning to our wonderful future together. If you are not able to make it to our ceremony, you will still be in our thoughts and hearts!
As you probably already know, we met by fate in the parking lot of Amato's in the winter of 2005. In March 2006, we had an amazing fairytale engagement under the stars(and fireworks!) on Waikiki beach in Hawaii! We got engaged on a warm beach, so we knew we wanted to have our honeymoon on a warm beach. But instead of just one beach, we're taking an Eastern Caribean cruise, where we can enjoy a new beach on a different beautiful island every day!
Most registries help newly-weds with home-goods and such, which are important....But we have been living in our new house for over a year now and have a lot of home goods. This registry is designed so you can see all the fun things we would love to do on our trip. Rain or shine, warm or cold, sun up or sun down, this cruise will be an amazing way for us to continue our wedding celebration. If you wish to send us a gift through this registry, you would be helping us make memories that will last a lifetime!
Hope to see you in September! Love, Rob and Rebecca
We're going to Eastern Caribean Cruise!
This is our dream honeymoon! Here is a break-down of all the fun at the different ports of call on our cruise:
Day 1: Arrive in Miami, FL and spend the afternoon/eveing on famous South Beach. We are staying at the Savoy Hotel right on the beach to get a preview of the tropical paradises to come.
Day 2: Depart Miami on the Carnival Triumph Funship. This is the most exciting part of the cruise because when we see the palm trees start to go by we know our amazing adventure has started! We will wave goodbye to the U.S. as the ship passes by the last stretch of land, sailing into the endless blue, and then we start exploring the massive cruise ship, which will be our gigantic "home" for the next week.
Day 3: HALF MOON CAY, BAHAMAS -> Rated as "Best Private Island" by Porthole Cruise Magazine for the past four years, and only two percent of the island is developed. We would love to enjoy this island by horseback, first riding the horses up to the most panoramic view of the island, then back down to the beach where we will get to ride our horses right into the water for a swim! Amazing! We will spend the rest of the day getting some much needed relaxation chilling out on the beach with a frozen tropical drink (well, Becca will have the frozen drink, but Rob might prefer a beer!)
Day 4: St. Thomas, USVI -> Wow, this island is the one we looked the most forward to seeing, and boy do we have a long amazing day planned! We plan on taking part in the excursion called "The ULTIMATE Island Experience!" So much to do, only one day to do it all! We start off on a scenic ride on the Skyline Drive to a panoramic photo spot, Drake's Seat, to get views of the Charlotte Amalie Harbour, the Carribean Sea, and Magen's Bay. Then we will actually spend two hours on the heart-shaped beach of Magen's Bay, rated one of the top ten Beaches of the World! Then we go to Blackbeard's Castle and explore the ancient land and old buildings of the pirates of the Carribean...will we get to meet Captain Jack Sparrow?! Other historic buildings we get to tour are buildings that housed visting Danish royalty, the Rum Museum, and an archealogical dig of the 17th century Pedersen Estate. In between visiting the historic sites, we can cool off by taking a dip in the swimming pools. Then we walk up the famous 99 Steps to Main Street to do some island shoppping and tste some carribean cuisine (Becca is all about the food!)
Day 5: San Juan, Puerto Rico -> We will see the San Juan Cathedral, built in 1540 and entombs the body of Ponce de Leon. It will take us a good several hours to explore the historical (over 400 years old) Old San Juan buildings and plazas, and then we will spend the rest of the day on a beach (sunbathing, kayaking, peddle-boating) in the Isla verde area.
Day 6: Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos -> This is our last port-of-call, and it ends with a bang in an unbelievable snorkling/stingray adventure! We will take a quick boat ride to famous Gibbs Cay where we will snorkel the reef 50 feet off the coast in crystal clear water, and then play with the sting rays right off the beach! We will do some of our own exploring of the land of the island, and then watch the "art of cleaning a conch". After enjoying some more beach time at Gibbs Cay with a few tropical drinks(beers for Rob), we will return to have some fun on Grand Turk, including island nightlife and local cuisine (yep, excited for that food!)
Day 7: Full day on the sea -> The cruise ship we will be on is the Carnival Triumph, which is one of the newer ships in the Carnival fleet, so there are soooo many activities on board the ship! Even though every night after the port-of-call excursions we will be enjoying the ships endless amenities, this day at sea is our opportunity to enjoy the ships festivities that we were not taking advantage of while exploring the islands. This is our last day to hit the casino, see a broadway-style show, watch an ice-sculpture demonstration, hit the spa for a massage, play minature golf, shop in the mall, have a drink in the piano bar or comedy club, tons more.
Day 8: Arrive back to Miami -> We will have one last breakfast on board the ship before we return to Miami. Then we return to Austin to send you pictures!
