We got Assiniboine Lodge Reservations! This is kind of cool since it's based completely on a lottery that favors locals and returning guests (which we are not). Assiniboine Lodge will be highlight of our honeymoon in the Canadian Rockies. It's the halfway rest point on a 40+ mile trek that begins in Banff National Park, goes through Assiniboine National Park and ends in Kananaskis National Park... Riki let me plan the trip. He probably won't make that mistake again... After trekking through the Rockies, we have some downtime reserved around Lake Louise for relaxing and exploring the local scenery... Why am I telling you this? Riki and I have established households with duplicates of everything: plates, sheets, trashcans. We don't need the traditional wedding shower fair and what we value most is time together in the woods. For this reason, all of our registry items are geared toward our honeymoon in the Canadian Rockies.
