Thanks for visiting our Honeymoon Registry. Since we bought our house 2 1/2 years ago, we have a lot of the "essential" home items a newly engaged couple needs.. So, we thought that a good idea might be to let people give us experiences, rather than things. For our honeymoon we have chosen to go to Japan. It seems fitting since Japanese culture was the first thing that we bonded over, it was even our very first conversation. We plan to spend two weeks trekking through the old world and the new of Japan, experiencing everything it has to offer... and we can't wait to hit the tarmac in Tokyo!!!!

We hope you find this registry as a way to help us make our perfect honeymoon come true! While we have taken many exciting trips together, we are very much looking forward to our first real adventure as husband and wife. We greatly appreciate and will fondly remember these gifts for years to come. After all, the memories from this honeymoon will last a lot longer than a new set of wine glasses (especially with how clumsy Jen is).

We're going to Tokyo, Japan!

Our trip to the Land of the Rising Sun begins in Tokyo. Tokyo, the capital city, is located in Honshu, and is home to more than 12 million people. We definitely plan to stay several days in Tokyo, where there is much to see and do: Museums, markets, shopping, and what trip to Japan would be complete without a stop at a karaoke bar. Japan is a country of many styles. In Tokyo we can experience the night life of the Roppongi district and sit in for a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. We're also going to be sure to check out Tokyo Disney while we're there. Our love of anime will also have us checking out the Studio Ghibli museum as well.

After we’ve exhausted all that Tokyo has to offer, we'll take the bullet train (Shinkansen) to Kyoto, the imperial capital of Japan, where we’ll see ancient temples, beautiful gardens, and lots of examples of traditional Japanese culture. Here, we'll be entertained by traditional geishas, go for a rickshaw ride and attend the Gion Festival, the largest festival held in Kyoto.

We'll also we be making a stop over in Hakone, where we'll be staying in a ryoken. The ryokan are Japanese inns – very luxurious – that fully encompass the culture of Japan, from the furnishings and communal baths to the food. The inn that we will be staying at dates back to the 1600s.
