To our beloved family and friends,

The very best present we can think of is for all you lovely people to join us in Vienna to witness and celebrate our marriage. We know that it's a lot to ask, since for most of you it means transatlantic flights and hotel rooms, and we appreciate you traveling to be with us more than we can say.

In fact, we weren't planning to register at all, especially since we recently purged most of our belongings, packed the rest into a tiny storage unit, and moved across the world. However, it has been pointed out to us by several trusted advisers that some people might like to give us a gift, so... We have gone a bit nontraditional and created a honeymoon registry, just for those people. We're planning a relaxing vacation to some of our favorite (and soon to be favorite) places in Italy. Please don't feel any obligation to give a gift, but if you are so inclined we would love your help in creating the first (wine-soaked) memories of our marriage. We promise lots of pictures and drool-worthy descriptions of the gelato.

And as for the rest of you, go buy a plane ticket instead, pretty please.

Much love,
Louisa and Eric

We're going to La bella Italia!

We are so excited to spend two blissful weeks together living la dolce vita in Italy! Rather than visit the big cities, we've chosen to spend our time in smaller towns and in the countryside. It promises to be molto relaxing.

First, we'll spend a week at the Castello di Bossi near Siena, taking some day trips and spending lots of time by and in the pool. For the second week we'll travel to the sweet walled town of Lucca, the beautiful coastal Cinque Terre, and that most romantic of cities, Verona (let's hope we survive). One long train ride, and we'll be back home in Vienna.

We're so looking forward to taking beautiful pictures, eating and drinking extremely well, and leaving our computers and iPhones behind. It seems like the perfect way to begin our married life together.

We'll rent a Fiat 500 (pronounce that Cinquecento and combine with a flamboyant hand gesture for the real Italian flavor) for the week so we can pretend there are no driving laws just like the crazy Italians do (we kid, we kid).

Montalcino: another gorgeous hill town, another excuse to sip delicious wine (hmm…I'm beginning to sense a theme). No towers to climb here, but we will take a picnic up to the ramparts of the Fortezza. Then we'll…you guessed it…taste some wine.
