As you know, we both love to visit places off the beaten path with plenty of culture. We have always talked about going to Nicaragua and have heard and read great things, so we hope this will make an exceptional destination with just the perfect mix of what we both like!

Playa Gigante, Nicaragua is one of the few non-americanized, which is hard to come by these days, cultural spots left on the rich coast of Nicaragua. A pueblo of about 400 locals in the greater Gigante area, it’s small town charm is as authentic of a third world village as it gets. Gigante has a gorgeous coastline, friendly and helpful locals, beach side fish shacks, and of course excellent surf.

We have decided to stay at Aqua Wellness Resort. It is located within the Pacific Lowlands of Nicaragua in Central America. Our resort will be situated in a lush tropical forest overlooking the dramatic Pacific Coast of Nicaragaua. It makes for an ideal secluded and peaceful natural setting. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in the treetops? If you think that’s monkey business, you are not entirely mistaken. Zack and I will be able to tell you first hand when we return since we will be staying in a tree top villa. Elevated off the ground the villas were sited to minimize impact on the primary forest and maximize the views and experience of the rainforest. We will hopefully fall asleep to the tranquil waves, which Zack will be dreaming of and wake up to the sounds of tropical nature. I can guarantee our wake up call will be a howler monkey!
