Hi everyone!
First and foremost, we'd like to say that your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. The time, effort, and expense of traveling to be with us is something we deeply appreciate, and we are so thrilled that we will be able to celebrate this happy occasion with you. We have been truly looking forward to the wedding and you being able to share in that means more than anything.
We wanted to give you the option of giving us the gift of necessity, or the gift of an experience and we hope you find this registry as a way to help us make our perfect honeymoon come true! We are really looking forward to our first trip - of hopefully a whole lot more - as husband and wife. We greatly appreciate and will forever remember these gifts for years to come.
We have chosen to make our frist trip to Zihuatanejo, Mexico. We wanted a location where we could just relax after all the wedding planning (and partying) was over. After months of searching for the perfect place, being very limited due to cold weather and high season prices - this secluded beach location turned out to be the right one. Its is on the Pacific Coast of Mexico and offers the most amazing weather, views, sunsets, drinks and food!
We'll do our best to document our experience with pictures and include it in your much-deserved "thank you" note.
Thanks again and we can't wait to see you at the wedding!!
Laura & Steven
We're going to Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, Mexico!
Zihuatanejo -- "Zihua" to the locals -- is a charming Mexican beach village. The area, with the backdrop of the Sierra Madre and foreground of the Pacific Ocean, provides a broad range of outdoor activities and sun-drenched diversions. Scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, bay cruises to remote beaches, and golf are among the favorites. This town has been developed as a tourist attraction along with the modern tourist resort of Ixtapa. However, Zihuatanejo keeps its traditional town feel. The town is located on a well-protected bay which is popular with private boat owners during the winter months. The area is now the third most visited area in Mexico after Cancún and Puerto Vallarta and the most popular for sports fishermen. Zihuatanejo is the dream "getaway" talked about in the movie "The Shawshank Redemption".
