Thanks for visiting our rockin' registry!
As you all know, Doug and I aren't exactly what you'd call traditional folk... so why stick to just a traditional registry? While we have a need for upgraded pillows (ours are terrible and we're too cheap to buy decent ones), that awesome Tassimo brew bot (the only thing Doug requested be put on a registry), and a few things we need to upgrade, we are, for the most part, set on home-making things!
What we are really looking forward to--after spending an incredible day filled with friends, family, YOU!--is getting away on our first-ever adventure of equal parts relaxation and exploration as Mr. & Mrs. Nepodal (!!!!!). And what better place to do all of that than Hawai'i?
The items we've included in our registry will contribute to us getting the very most out of our honeymoon experience as possible: from intimate relaxation (massages, anyone? Mmmm...), to blood-thirsty screaming (skydiving... WAHOOO!!), we hope to make this an experience that we can tell our grandchildren about as we dandle them upon our knees (well... most of it, anyway...)
Thank you so very much for looking, and an immensely huge thank you for those contributing! We can't wait to share our wedding day with you, and the pictures/videos from our honeymoon!
Much love,
Laura and Doug (aka Wagie)
We're going to Kona, Hawai'i!
When considering where we should go on our honeymoon, we thought of going someplace where the only option was to veg out and do absolutely nothing. And then we thought back to every other trip where we tried to do that, and realized: we can't. We are completely incapable of just vegging out -- we love adventuring and exploring, too! So we figured, realistically, that we should try and find a place where we can easily do both -- which led us to to the Big Island of Hawai'i.
The Big Island of Hawai'i contains one of the most diverse networks of climates found anywhere in such a comparatively small area. In a couple of hours, we can go from almost arid-like conditions that are sprinkled with volcanic rock to a lush, wet, tropical canopy. We know there is the option of staying nestled into our resort hotel room and relaxing on the beautiful beaches - and that we also have the option of going out and going on a 4x4 off-road expedition to locations less traveled. And that's exactly what we're looking for.
Ohhhh, the possibilities...
When it comes down to it, though, the thing that Doug and I love most is spending time with each other, and exploring new territories, within and without. We're great traveling buddies, we're supportive, adoring lovers, and best of friends. With all of the running around we will inevitably be doing before our wedding day, our honeymoon is going to be truly, immeasurably important to us. For us to have the opportunity to spend our first week together as husband and wife in a place where we can just go on wonderful adventures is going to be so priceless. We simply cannot wait!
