We have chosen Tuscany, Italy as our destination and we are so excited!! Adam has never been to Europe and I have never been to Italy. We are going for 13 days and during that time, among other things, I'm hoping to stomp on some grapes! I've even purchased the Rosetta Stone Italian CDs so that I can get a few words under my belt!

We are flying into Pisa, renting a car and driving to Chianti. Castello del Nero is a castle that has been recently renovated and turned into a hotel. It is surrounded by olives and grapes and sits on top of a hill and is so picturesque. We will stay at this castle for 5 days and use it as a "hub" while we explore Tuscany. We will spend some time in Florence (only 20 kilometers away from Chianti) and enjoy the home of the Renaissance. It is also supposed to be beautiful, some say the most beautiful in Italy! We would also like to explore the countryside and visit Sienna where one of my good friends studied. Above all, we just want to wing it, relax and enjoy! Though.... the relaxing part may be a bit challenging when we try to drive... we've heard it's a new experience in Italy... but our travel agent assures us that driving in the countryside is okay.

We will then go over to the west coast and stay oceanside in Viareggio Lucca (also in Tuscany) and run our toes in the sand! We will be here for two days. This is definitely for relaxation and to enjoy the sun!

After getting well rested along the water we will finally attack Rome! We are both very interested in seeing the Coliseum, the Forum, the Vatican and just walking the streets that carry so much history! We are aware that it will be crazy and all have told us that it is a very busy city, but hopefully, it's exciting too. After 4 days of Rome, we will return to home to LA!
