One of our shared passions is traveling, and we can't wait to explore Rio de Janeiro together on our honeymoon! After a busy wedding weekend, Rio will be the perfect place to relax. Thank you for considering a truly memorable gift in honor of our wedding!

Rio de Janeiro is famous for its natural settings, its carnival celebrations, samba, and hotel-lined tourist beaches, such as Copacabana and Ipanema.

Some of the most famous landmarks, in addition to the beaches, include the Christ the Redeemer statue, Sugarloaf mountain with its cable car, and MaracanĂ£ stadium, one of the world's largest football stadiums.

We're going to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!

HOW IT WORKS

Traveler's Joy is a registry service, not a travel agency. Traveler's Joy gives us the freedom to book our honeymoon with whomever we like, and redeem our gifts whenever we are ready.

Below you will see a list of items and activities from our honeymoon. Large items, such as airline tickets, are broken down into small increments. By providing a variety of listings, we hope to give you the opportunity to select a gift that reflects your personal style and budget. An email detailing your gift will be sent to us immediately.

Once again, we thank you for visiting our registry!

Before we even get there, we need to get visas to get us into the country. Each visa costs $120 a piece!

Getting there is half the battle (and the majority of the expenses). We have enough frequent flier miles to pay for one flight, but it wouldn't be much of a trip if just one of us was there!

After years of staying in hostels... we're so excited to have a hotel room that doesn't require us to share a bathroom with the rest of the hall! We'll start the vacation staying on Copacabana Beach.

Brazil is famous for it's churrascarias, and Porcao is one of it's best. I know you're thinking, "What is Julie going to eat at a Brazilian bbq restaurant?" but their buffets are vegetarian-friendly (and the view at Porcao is spectacular).

We may have two left feet, but we're still willing to try samba lessons. Salguerio school promises to teach us some rhythm!

Some consider if one of the wonders of the world, and the Christ the Redeemer statue is on our list of things to do while we're in Rio. The cab ride there and back will cost us $20, and the admission costs us $10 a piece.

Designer Phillipe Starck put his touch on an amazing hotel on Ipanema beach. We can't wait to stay the last 2 nights at the Fasano Hotel. The rooftop infinity pool says it all!

We want to give back while we're on our honeymoon. Brazil has one of the highest rates of inequality in the world, with the majority of people living in shanty towns called favelas. We'll spend a day volunteering in a school and donating supplies.

Soccer games are an "intense spectacle" according to our travel guide. The players are amazing and the crowd is crazed. The Marcana Football Stadium is an enormous shrine to soccer and tickets are $5/piece.

Rio de Janeiro is the best place to surf in Brazil, and we are going to try to get the hang of it. We are going to take surfing lessons, and hopefully, we'll be able to get up on the board by the end of the week.

Jonathan loves eating sushi! We're going to eat at Rio's top sushi destination, Sushi Leblon, known for it's zen-like ambience and succulent cuisine.

In a town filled with churrascarias, it sounds like it may be hard to find vegetarian meals. But that's all Quitanda Vegetal serves. Jonathan will have to give up meat for one meal!

A cable car will take us to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain... a 1,292-foot-high granite block that towers over the suroundings and marks the entrance of the Bay of Guanabara.
