St. Lucia is a sovereign Eastern Caribbean island nation in the West Indies on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean, with a pair of dramatically tapered mountains, the Pitons, on its west coast. Part of the Lesser Antilles, it is located north/northeast of the island of Saint Vincent, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique, and it covers a land area of 238 square miles. Its coast is home to volcanic beaches, reef-diving sites, luxury resorts and fishing villages. Trails in the interior rainforest lead to waterfalls like the 15m high Toraille, which pours over a cliff into a garden. The capital, Castries, is a popular cruise port.

As you know, we both love an active travel experience with plenty of culture. We have heard great things about the island of Saint Lucia including its natural wonders and rich cultural heritage that combined, make it an exceptional eco-tourism destination.

We have decided to focus most of our time on the northern portion of the island and at an amazing place called Sandals Grande St. Lucian.
