Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for visiting our honeymoon web page! We can't wait to see all of you who will be at our wedding on July 5th in Buffalo. Both of us are counting down the days...we couldn't be any more excited. Neither of us can imagine anything better than having all the people we love in the same place at the same time. A very special thanks goes out to all of you out-of-towners who will be "shuffling off to Buffalo" for our big day...we promise we will make it worth your while!
We knew as soon as we got engaged that we would be planning our honeymoon in Italy. Both of us felt a bit hesitant about a traditional registry since we already have a house full of most everything we need. We feel that the time we share together and the memories we are creating are the most meaningful thing we have in our lives. Our time together has been priceless and every moment since we've met has been an adventure. All we can ask you is to join us on July 5th and help us to celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives. And if you insist on giving us a wedding gift, a memorable honeymoon in Italy will last us a lifetime.
Much love and thanks!
Jeff and Lindsay
We're going to Venice, Rome, Sicily!
Our honeymoon will begin in Venice, the city of canals, which we have been told it is the most romantic city on earth. We look forward to spending three nights in Venice, giving us enough time to explore the city and enjoy all it has to offer. We will be staying in a small family owned hotel right on the Grand Canal, overlooking the Accademia Bridge. While in Venice we would like to tour the lagoon islands, and of course, take a ride in a gondola. We also plan on taking a trip into the hillside villiages surrounding Venice to check out the vineyards where they make Italian wine and Prosecco.
Our journey will continue with several days in the ancient city of Rome. We would like to see all the major sights like the Colosseum, The Vatican (including the Sistine Chapel!), and the Pantheon, then we'd like to just wander around, checking out the piazzas, fountains, and family-owned restaurants. We are staying at Fellini Bed and Breakfast, which is centrally located so we should be able to walk just about everywhere. Five days will hardly be enough in a city that has been standing for thousands of years, so we plan on making the most of our time in Rome!
From Rome we will fly to Sicily on a hunt to find distant Guarinos in the tiny villiage of Valledolmo. We actually found that Guarino is one of the five most popular surnames in a town of only 4,000! After stopping in Valledolmo, we will stay for 2 days in Taormina, a romantic city sitting on cliffs overlooking Sicily's coast. Here we would like to hike up Mount Etna, one of the world's most active volcanos. We also plan on staying one night in Cefalu, a town on the northern coast, and one night in Palermo before we fly back home.
