Hi friends and family! We are so excited to see you in September for the wedding week. We are really excited to spend time with you, and really really really excited to get married.

We are also excited for the 10 weeks after the wedding. We are going around the world! Seriously, all around the world in one direction. We're going to 14 countries, which you can see below. We are visiting cities we already love, new countries we are excited to love, orphanages, a monastery, a study center, and various churches and communities across the globe.

Many people have asked us why and how we are doing this. On this trip, we want to learn how to be married. We will be adventuring through new cultures and communities together, and dealing with the frustrating moments of travel together. We want to see the ways God is alive throughout the world, and experience all of it together as we start our life as a married couple.

You are probably wondering; how are Sophie and Jared able to get up and leave for 10 weeks? We are able to do all of this because of the unique blessings and situations in our life right now. Sophie has graduated college and has time to travel before starting a job. Jared has a fantastic job, and our amazing church is supporting us in this endeavor. They are allowing us to go on this trip and return with job security, knowing it will strengthen us as a couple and in our ministry.

So what is a honeymoon registry? This website allows you to participate in our trip! Instead of registering for lots of home goods, we've registered for lodging, transportation, activities, gear, and all sorts of adventures on our trip. We'd rather create memories and shape our relationship than acquire lots of stuff. You can read through what we're doing on our trip and pick an item you'd like to give us. Traveler's Joy tells us who gave us what item, so we can send you pictures of what we did with your gift! [We have also registered for some needed home goods. If you would like to give us a traditional gift, head to Target for our registry there!]

We would like to emphasize that your presence is truly our present. We are delighted to share in our wedding celebration with you. If you feel inclined to gift us with an item as well, this can help be a guide.

We're going to the orphanage, Hogar de Vida, that Sophie lived at in summer 2008. They host us very well and we just need to pay minimal room and board. (and we get delicious meals from the families there! ...that's Gypsy with her lunch)
