When deciding on a perfect honeymoon spot, Jamie and I wanted to go somewhere that was once in a lifetime. A place that would be a fantasy, a place that would be fit for our dream honeymoon... Bali, Indonesia seems to have it all!

Although in order to get there, we must stop in Tokyo...well, if we must! ;) With a long flight and the chance of never getting back to Japan, we decided to stay 2 nights in Tokyo; Japan's version of New York City. The idea will be to see as much of Tokyo as possible in 48 hrs and no sleep! ...the best sushi you will ever eat, sake, sumo wrestling (seriously, are you kidding me!) karaoke (yes!), and a Japanese night club! By the time we hit Bali, we will be ready for rest. :)

Bali measures 95 miles from east to west and 69 miles from tip to toe. Although small, it fosters an artistically diverse population, with virtually every Balinese skilled as artisan, dancer, or artist and living a spiritual life. Bali boasts more temples than houses. The Balinese are known to be some of the happiest people on earth, always smiling and waving as you pass them by.

This tropical paradise it set amidst pristine beaches, lush rice paddies, world-class surfing, volcanic mountain scenery, and fantastic year around weather! It is known to offer the best-rated resorts at reasonable prices, flawless service, and "to die for" spas. There will be no shortage for opportunity for thrill seeking either- as you know, we both love an active travel experience!

We will begin our trip to Bali at the beach, Jimbaran Bay! We plan to lounge at the beach, pool and our villa for 6 nights, catching up on some much needed relaxation! Spa treatments, a romantic beachside dinner and sunset cocktails await us! Here we will recharge and possibly not leave the resort grounds for a few days ;) Though I am sure we will fit in a surf lesson at some point...can't waste that surf!

Next we plan to head inland toward the mountains and the lush rice paddy town of Ubud for 5 nights. Here is where all the adventure will be had! We plan to go canyoning through the mountainous caves and waterfalls, take a sunrise bicycle tour to the volcano, take a cooking class with a local family, silversmithing, see an authentic Balinese dance, and ride an elephant through the jungle!

As you can see, this is a trip of a lifetime, with memories that will surely last that long. Thank you for allowing us to embark on this journey, our first adventure as husband and wife...what a trip it will be!!
