Hi everyone!
First off, we'd like to say that your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. The time, effort, and expense of traveling to the Florida Gulf Coast to be with us means so much, and we are so thrilled that we will FINALLY ;) be able to celebrate this happy occasion with you!
After 8 years together, we are very blessed to have a lot of the "essential" home items a newly engaged couple needs. We hope you find this registry as a way to help us make our dream honeymoon come true! While Darin and I have been fortunate to have shared several wonderful trips together over the years, our dream is to take an epic trip to celebrate the journey we have already shared together and to embrace the start of our new adventure as husband and wife.
It is because of this special and once in a lifetime experience and the memories we will gain from this trip as a newly married couple, that we finally settled on a honeymoon registry. We plan to travel and ultimately eat our way through the far reaches of Southeast Asia. We hope to explore Thailand and Cambodia and if we can make it work with time also Vietnam- experiencing the cultures through their food, hiking through the jungles to see beautiful temples and ancient ruins, travel by boat down the rivers and explore the beaches ending our travels in the most romantic way, just the two of us in a tropical hut over the ocean in the Maldives for the last few days.
We greatly appreciate and will fondly remember these gifts for years to come. After all, the memories from this honeymoon will last a lot longer than a new set of wine glasses (especially with our breakage rate!).
We'll do our best to document our experience via photo and include it in your much-deserved "thank you" note.
Thanks again and we can't wait to see you at the beach! or earlier :).
Love,
Christina & Darin
We're going to Help us eat and beach our way through SE Asia!
The Kingdom of Thailand is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Asia. The inviting climate, charming people and relatively low cost make it an ideal choice for a vacation. Thailand has a rich culture supported by a long and storied history. It was never colonized and enjoys deep traditions rooted in the Buddhist faith and devotion to the royal family.
Thailand has stunning natural beauty, ample cultural treasures and very friendly people. Bangkok is a thriving metropolis dotted with majestic Buddha statues and sparkling golden temples. The Grand Palace rivals any royal palace in the world. Chiang Mai is known as the cultural center of the Northern Thailand. It is filled with temples and is an ideal launching point for expeditions to visit remote hill tribes. Thailand boasts many spectacular beaches including those in Phuket in the south.
Cambodia more than its temples. The chaotic yet charismatic capital of Phnom Penh is a hub of political intrigue, economic vitality and intellectual debate. The revitalised city of Siem Reap is finally earning plaudits in its own right thanks to a gorgeous riverside location, a cultural renaissance, and a dining and drinking scene to rival the best in the region. And don’t forget the rest of the country: relax in the sleepy seaside town of Kampot and trek the nearby Bokor National Park; take an elephant ride in the jungles of Mondulkiri Province; ogle the Mekong dolphins at Kratie or simply choose a beach near Sihanoukville
Contemporary Cambodia is the successor state to the mighty Khmer empire, which, during the Angkor period, ruled much of what is now Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. The remains of this empire can be seen at the fabled temples of Angkor, monuments unrivalled in scale and grandeur in Southeast Asia. The traveller’s first glimpse of Angkor Wat, the ultimate expression of Khmer genius, is simply staggering and is matched by only a few select spots on earth, such as Machu Picchu or Petra.
Maldives has deep blue seas, turquoise reefs, white sandy beaches and palm trees. It is also a place full of character, where its people have long spent their days languishing in the very essence of idyll living. While it is the perfect place to sit on a beach and watch a sunset with a cocktail balanced on your hand, it is also a geographical marvel, knowing that there are thousands of fish swimming around the vivid corals just a few feet away from where you sit.
In ancient times, the shores of the Maldives welcomed lost travellers. Still welcoming, these shores remain, providing a tranquil haven for visitors
