Hey y'all!
We are so excited to have each of you be a part of our big day - We are incredibly blessed and truly thankful to have such wonderful family & friends! We would love for everyone to be a part of our honeymoon as well - not in a tagging-along-creepy-third-wheel sort of way, but in putting your own personal touches into all the exicting things that we will get to do!
We have been blessed to have a lot of the "essential" items that newly engaged couples typically need. So if you'd prefer to give the gift of an experience, rather than a gravy boat, you're in the right place!
If you do give a gift on travelersjoy, we'll be told what you gave us and we'll try to make sure to document it so you can share in the experience. Most of the gifts are divided, so you can give a whole thing or part, or mix and match. Sounds fun, right?
We are extremely excited about starting our married life together in paradise (well, the first 12 days of married life at least!) We can't wait to see everyone at the wedding (or earlier!).
With love,
George & Whitney
PS - Don't forget to visit our wedding website at www.georgeandwhitney.com for information about the wedding!
We're going to Hawaii (Oahu and the Big Island)!
1st Stop - Oahu, Hawaii (6days/nights)
Sometimes called “The Gathering Place,” Oahu certainly lives up to its name. The third largest Hawaiian island is home to the majority of Hawaii’s diverse population, a fusion of east and west cultures rooted in the values and traditions of the Native Hawaiian people. It’s this fundamental contrast between the ancient and the modern that makes discovering Oahu so enjoyable.
The clear blue waters of Kailua Beach meet the metropolitan cityscapes of Honolulu. The historic architecture of Iolani Palace meets the timeless memorials of Pearl Harbor. The big city of Waikiki meets the small town of Haleiwa on the North Shore. Whether you’re hiking atop iconic Leahi (Diamond Head), enjoying some of Hawaii’s best shopping, or simply unwinding on the sands of the island’s beautiful beaches, you’ll find variety at every turn on Oahu.
Our Accommodations
The Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, located on Waikiki's widest stretch of beach, is nestled on 22 oceanfront acres on the world-famous Duke Kahanamoku Beach and set amid lush tropical gardens, waterfalls and exotic wildlife.
2nd Stop - The Big Island, Hawaii (6days/5nights)
It’s easy to feel awed on Hawaii Island. From the molten magma flowing from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to the snow-capped heights of Maunakea; from the green rainforests of the Hamakua Coast to the jet-black sands of Punaluu Beach; Hawaii Island is an unrivaled expression of the power of nature.
The dramatic size and scope of the largest Hawaiian Island create a microcosm of environments and activities. On this island’s vast tableau, you’ll find everything from extravagant resorts and incredible golf courses to modest local towns and sacred Hawaiian historical sites, from the birthplace of King Kamehameha I to Hawaii’s first missionary church in Historic Kailua Village (Kailua-Kona). With so much to see, it’s best to experience the island in small pieces. There’s plenty of room on Hawaii Island for your return.
