Well guys it's getting close! All the time since our engagement has flown by. Now, we are only a few short months away from our Big Day and taking the Honeymoon of our dreams!
Where did we decide to go?
CALIFORNIA! The Fantastic city of
San Francisco--then to
Yosemite for some hiking and skiing--then
Wine Country. Can't wait!
Fulfilling our Honeymoon Registry is EASY! The best part is you can do it all from your PC!
Here's how it works: Just choose a "gift" you'd like to give, then scroll down the page and click on 'Give Gifts".
You will then be prompted to enter your information and choose a method of payment- either by Credit Card or PayPal.
FYI,
checks are also accepted and probably the
EASIEST form of payment, but cannot be processed through TravelersJoy. Checks would have to be sent directly to our home. *This method also eliminates any fees from being subtracted from the gift you give*
(Please contact the MOH: Mindy Brooks by email
mindy.m.brooks@gmail.com or visit our website: http://www.mywedding.com/sophielovesgabe/ for more info on
how &
where to send checks.)
To all who contribute to our honeymoon fund and help make this trip a reality--
we can't thank you enough and WE LOVE YOU!! xoxo,
Gabe and Sophie
We're going to CALIFORNIA!!
eeny meeny miney mo ....where in the world should the newlyweds go!?! So many wonderful destinations to choose from!
We've researched many places, both here and abroad and have decided to stay in the Mother Land. Lucky Winner: the Beautiful State of California.
Our first stop, Fantastic San Francisco!
Established in 1776 by the Spanish, then expanded during the Cali Gold Rush, San Fran became the largest city on the West Coast by the late 1800s. The end of WWII brought about the confluence of returning servicemen, massive immigration, liberalizing attitudes, and other factors led to the Summer of Love and the gay rights movement. Renowned for its chilly summer fog, steep rolling hills, eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture and its famous landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, Chinatown and THE HAIGHT!
The next stop on our trip will bring us east to the Sierra Nevada region
Yosemite National Park is located in the central Sierra Nevada of California. It takes approximately 4 hours to drive to the park from San Francisco. roughly the size of the U.S. state of Rhode Island and contains thousands of lakes and ponds. The park has three groves of ancient Giant Sequoia trees; the Mariposa Grove (200 trees), the Tuolumne Grove (25 trees), and the Merced Grove (20 trees). This species grows larger in volume than any other and is one of the tallest and longest-lived. Yosemite has a Mediterranean climate, meaning most precipitation falls during the mild winter, and the other seasons are nearly dry, which will be perfect in mid-April...
We will round up the trip with a stop in Wine Country for a tasting or two, and a tour of the vineyards before heading back to San Fran....
It's gonna be awesome!
