Hello friends, family and fellow travelers!

Welcome to our honeymoon registry! We are SO excited to share this with you. Even if you’re not looking for a honeymoon gift, this is a great way to see where we’ve decided to celebrate post-wedding.

The honeymoon is such a special part of starting a life together. Fundamentally, it is a time to relax, reflect and celebrate love. But we see it as so much more than that. We see it as the ultimate opportunity to travel back to where we first met and this time see Europe together, both in Turkey and beyond. And it couldn’t come at a better time in our lives. We’re young, we’re finishing up our master’s degrees, and we’ve got the rest of the year to enjoy a flexible schedule before we break into the workforce in January. This is the PERFECT time to spend traveling the world.

So, we gave ourselves one month. One month to do the most we could with a (somewhat) reasonable budget.

The trip ends with our flight back to the states, just in time to see everyone once again at the Kansas City Celebration! I doubt we'll be tan (have you met us?), but we'll be refreshed, excited and full of new memories!

HOSTEL - Eric and I stayed at the Istanbul Hostel four years ago and LOVED IT. We've decided to stay here again in order to splurge on nicer hotels later in the trip. The best part? Breakfast on a rooftop overlooking the Hagia Sophia.

TICKETS TO HAGIA SOPHIA - This church/mosque/museum has too long a history to cover here, but just know it's beautiful and is filled with ancient Christian and Islamic art, not to mention mind-blowing byzantine mosaics! Can't WAIT.

ENTRANCE TO BLUE MOSQUE - One of Istanbul's most famous buildings, the Blue Mosque is named for the beautiful blue tiles that line the inside. While entrance is technically free, we'd like to meet the suggested donation.

TURKISH STREET FOOD - We fully expect Eric to gain about 10 pounds the first week of our Honeymoon. Why? The Turkish street food. It's delicious, to the point where he hasn't stopped talking about it for four years. We'll probably eat little else.

SILK HEAD SCARF (GRAND BAZAAR)- Walking through the Bazaar, everything is so colorful and lively. Meghan will need to pick up a head scarf that she can use to cover her head in places with modest dress-codes like inside the Blue Mosque.

TEA SET (GRAND BAZAAR)- Did we mention we love tea? Well, we do. In fact, we have an entire kitchen cabinet devoted to teas. Thus, an authentic turkish tea set from, say, the Grand Bazaar, would be a dream souvenier to bring home!

TURKISH RUG - Four years ago, with Eric by her side, Meghan bought an authentic silk persion rug in Ankara. It remains one of our most prized posessions. After careful consideration, we've decided to invest in second rug in honor of our marriage!

EFES (BEER) - Efes is Turkey's beer of choice. Brewed all over the globe but based out of Istanbul, we learned to love this beer (a lot) at field camp. We plan on unwinding nightly with tall glasses of Efes as we take in Istanbul's nightlife.

VILLA NIGHTS - Santorini is one of those places where you won't do it justice if you don't slurge a little. Famous for it's beautiful views of a volcanic slope dotted with white washed villas with blue trim, we found a great place in a great location!
