Hi Everyone!
Thanks for dropping by our honeymoon registry site! While we're incredibly grateful to receive any gift, we're particularly excited that you're considering donating to our honeymoon in Thailand. Blenders are cool and all, but Thai massages, elephant tours, and rock climbing in the sugarloaf mountains are infinitely cooler. We're incredibly excited for our two week adventure through Thailand and love that you are helping to make our dream honeymoon a reality.
Much Love,
Derek and Val
We're going to Thailand!
A little more info about where we're going:
Bankok: We'll be here for 3 nights. Since Bangkok is the capital of Thailand it has tons to offer in terms of fine dining, street food, cabaret shows, and muay thai boxing events. We're looking forward to trying all types of Thai food there, from the fine dining options to the street food which includes crickets and scorpions. After that we plan on touring the local temples and maybe catch a cabaret show. And we definitely want to check out the local Muay Thai stadium where people from all over the world come to train.
Ko Phi Phi Island: We will be spending 4 nights on this beautiful island in the Southern Andaman coast. Its known for its beautiful white sand beaches, crystal clear water, inland jungles, and rock climbing over the ocean. There are no roads on the island so we plan on doing a lot of boat and kayak rentals so we can tour around the island to its many beaches and neighboring islands. In addition to this we plan to do a lot of relaxing in our amazing villa that overlooks the ocean (complete with infinity pool)...it IS our honeymoon after all!
Chiang Mai: Chiang Mai is in the northern part of Thailand and was the original capital before Bangkok. We will be spending 4 nights here enjoying the jungles of Thailand and experiencing the Northern culture. We also plan on doing jungle things like riding elephants, hiking, and zip-lining through the trees. Renting scooters to tour the jungle is also a distinct possibility. Its not all jungle there though, there is also the old city that has plenty of places to eat, watch live music, shop in the night bazaar, or have a cocktail while taking a boat down the river.
Pai: Pai is a small town north of Chiang Mai where we'll be spending 2 nights. Its known for its art, music, and food scene tucked away in a valley with hot springs, rice fields, and a lazy river...so yeah we had to come here. We're looking forward to ending our whirlwind trip in a relaxing mountain town where we can stroll down the one main street, eat authentic Thai food, drink cocktails by the river, see local bands, and pick up some Thai art to display in our home.
