Hello friends! We just wanted to start by saying that your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could hope for to start our married life together. We promise it will be an amazing party and you will most certainly dance, drink and dine until your heart is content! We can't wait! Is it May yet? No? Ugh.
Six months after our wedding, in the dead of winter, we plan to celebrate our honeymoon with a safari to Tanzania. You know we're a couple that loves to travel. Our best memories are spent exploring the world and we want this to be a theme that continues throughout our married life. We hope that this site will allow you to help us create long-lasting memories of a joy-filled honeymoon!
We thought that since we are a "path less traveled couple," this "path less traveled registry" might just be a great fit. We thank you for all your love and support and we really can't wait to celebrate with you in May. ALL OUR LOVE!
Kasey and Dave
We're going to Tanzania!
There's a reason safari means "journey" in Swahili: No other word better sums up the experience of this southeast African country. Tanzania's unspoiled national parks rival any in the world.
Tanzania, the largest country in East Africa, includes the spice islands of Zanzibar, Pemba, and Mafia and contains Africa's highest point—Kilimanjaro, at 5,895 meters (19,340 feet). Kilimanjaro, a dormant volcano, is snowcapped even though it is near the Equator. The African population consists of more than 120 ethnic groups.
Within the space of several hours, it’s possible to go from lazing on idyllic beaches to exploring moss-covered ruins of ancient Swahili city-states; from climbing mist-covered slopes in the Southern Highlands to trekking through the barren landscapes around Ol Doinyo Lengai, guided by a spear-carrying Maasai warrior. Yet, despite its attractions, Tanzania has managed for the most part to remain unassuming and low-key. It has also remained enviably untouched by the tribal rivalries and political upheavals that plague many of its neighbours, and this – combined with a booming tourism industry – makes it an ideal choice for both first-time visitors and Africa old hands.
We have decided to focus most of our time on safari in the unspoiled Ruaha and Selous Game reserves, as well as spending some time on the beach on the East coast of Tanzania and in Zanzibar.
We can't tell you how excited we are for this honeymoon. We've included some of the activities and experiences we'll be enjoying below. Thank you so much for considering a gift toward this once in a lifetime experience!
