Nuestra luna de miel se centra en la historia, el arte, la ciencia y el vino. Empezamos en Roma para ver la Ciudad del Vaticano. Desde allí nos embarcaremos en una aventura en tren, donde aprovecharemos al máximo las 36 horas que tenemos en las ciudades de: Florencia, Milán y Ginebra. Después de Ginebra, tomaremos un autobús a Lyon, Francia, para experimentar la majestuosidad de la ciudad antes de tomar otro tren a París. Después de unos días en París para ver lo imprescindible, volaremos a Madrid por unos días. Nuestro último tramo será desde Madrid de regreso a Roma para pasar 48 horas antes de nuestro vuelo a Raleigh.

De hecho, el Vaticano será nuestra primera parada y estamos entusiasmados de ver tantas cosas como sea posible en un día allí. ¡Con suerte, podremos hablar cara a cara con el Papa o ver algunos archivos secretos! En Roma vamos a ver el Coliseo y con suerte caminaremos como las calles por donde caminó César.

Nuestra aventura en tren comenzará en Florencia, donde estamos emocionados de ver la historia que crearon los Medici. Definitivamente vamos a ver la Signoria y subir a la torre del Palazzo Vecchio. Experimentar una copa de auténtico vino toscano también será imprescindible. En Milán, la Catedral y el museo Leonardo di Vinci tendrán prioridad sobre ver a Christian Pulsinic marcar un gol con el AC Milan, pero intentaremos verlo. Ginebra es donde se encuentra el CERN e Itzel es un poco nerd de la ciencia, por lo que ver el acelerador de partículas es una oportunidad que no queremos perder.

Nuestro desvío en autobús hacia Lyon es una historia interesante para otro momento, pero la belleza de la ciudad y su proximidad a los viñedos de Beaujolai es una oportunidad demasiado grande como para dejarla pasar. ¡El ahorro de ir a Lyon en lugar de ir directamente a París también es un buen incentivo! Una vez que lleguemos a París, pasaremos rápidamente a lo esencial. Esperemos que la temporada turística en París haya terminado y podamos ver el Louvre en paz. Se verá la torre Eiffel, pero es posible que Itzel esté tomando el ascensor solo. Si tenemos suerte, la reconstrucción de Notre Dame (París... no Indiana) estará completa.

España ha sido un sueño para los dos y estar en Europa y no ver España sería una farsa. El Museo del Prado será el destino cultural elegido por Itzel, mientras que yo estoy decidido a vivir una experiencia en el Real Madrid. Por último, visitaremos a algunos de los antepasados de Itzel en la ciudad de Ávila mientras experimento la increíble arquitectura y el vino. Nuestro regreso a Roma será breve y agradable, sin una agenda real en este momento. Nuestro viaje es un sueño y estamos muy emocionados por ello, ¡y tenemos la suerte de contar con su apoyo para este viaje!

Our honeymoon is centered around history, art, science, and wine. We are starting in Rome to see the Vatican City. From there we will embark on a train adventure, where we will make the most of the 36 hours we have in the cities of: Florence, Milan, and Geneva. After Geneva, we will take a bus to Lyon, France to experience the majesty of the city before taking another train to Paris. After a few days in Paris to see the essentials, we will fly to Madrid for a few days. Our final leg will be from Madrid back to Rome to spend 48 hours before our flight to Raleigh.

The Vatican will actually be our first stop, and we are excited to as many things as possible in one day there. Hopefully, we can get some face time with the Pope or see some secret archives! In Rome, we are going to see the Coliseum and hopefully walk as the streets where Caesar walked.

Our train adventure will start in Florence where we are excited to see the history the Medici created. We are definitely going to see the Signoria and climb the tower of Palazzo Vecchio. Experiencing a glass of true Tuscan wine will also be an essential. In Milan, the Cathedral and Leonardo di Vinci museum will take priority over watching Christian Pulsinic score a goal for AC Milan, but we will try to see him. Geneva is where CERN is located, and Itzel is a bit of a science nerd, so seeing the particle accelerator is chance we do not want to miss.

Our bus detour to Lyon is an interesting story for another time, but the beauty of the city and its proximity to Beaujolai vineyards, is too great an opportunity to pass up. The saving of going to Lyon instead of directly to Paris is also a nice incentive! Once we arrive in Paris, we will be moving quickly through the essentials. The tourist season in Paris will hopefully be over, so we can see the Louvre in peace. The Eiffel tower will be seen, but Itzel might be taking the elevator alone. If we are lucky, the reconstruction on Notre Dame (Paris... not Indiana) will be complete.

Spain has been a dream for both of us, and being in Europe and not seeing Spain would be a travesty. The Prado Museum will be the cultural target of choice for Itzel, while I am determined to have a Real Madrid experience. Lastly, we will visit some of Itzel's ancestors in the city of Avila while I experience the amazing architecture and wine. Our return to Rome will be short and sweet, with no real agenda at this time. We trip is a dream and we are so excited for it, and are blessed to have your support for this journey!
