Africa! It's the adventure of a lifetime, and a lifelong dream of ours.
As many of you know, we've been fortunate to travel together. It's our very favorite thing to do. We love trying new foods, learning about new cultures, scuba diving, spotting wildlife on our "creature walks," wandering through marketplaces, and exploring quiet streets.
It's amazing the little details we recall long after our travels. Craig and I often reminisce about them: from our sunset tide pool walks in the Bahamas nine years ago, to the pasta bolognese we accidentally ordered one morning in Venice (when just trying to ask for a Coca Cola), to the sounds of whales calling while scuba diving in Puerto Vallarta, and our fascinating encounter with a nomadic shepherd in rural India.
Our families instilled in both of us a love of foreign cultures, a taste for adventure, and an appreciation of nature.
For our honeymoon, we dream of traveling to Tanzania. We'll watch the Great Migration in the Serengeti, explore beautiful Stone Town (a UNESCO world heritage site), and scuba dive the incredible reefs of Zanzibar.
It'll be the most epic journey we've had together yet, and we'll have you to thank (via postcard from our African honeymoon)! From the bottom of hearts, thank you for helping us make this dream come true. These memories will last a lifetime.
We're going to Serengeti National Park & Zanzibar, Tanzania!
As an adventure travel destination, Tanzania seemingly has it all. Within the space of several hours, it’s possible to go from palm-fringed, idyllic beaches of Zanzibar to moss-covered ruins of ancient Swahili city-states; from mist-covered slopes in the Southern Highlands, to the distinctive, exotic landscapes of the Serengetti. Yet, despite its attractions, Tanzania has managed for the most part to remain unassuming and low-key. It has also remained enviably untouched by the tribal rivalries and political upheavals that plague many of its neighbours, and this – combined with a booming tourism industry – makes it an ideal choice for both first-time visitors and Africa old hands.
