The Canary Islands, commonly known as The Canaries, are a Spanish archipelago located just off the northwest coast of mainland Africa, 60 miles west of the border between Morocco and the Western Sahara. The Canaries are a Spanish autonomous community and the outermost region of the European Union. The islands include (from largest to smallest): Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. The Canary Islands are legally recognized as a nationality of Spain.

The archipelago's beaches, climate and important natural attractions, especially Teide National Park and Mount Teide (the third tallest volcano in the world measured from its base on the ocean floor), make it a major tourist destination, with over 12 million visitors per year. The islands have a subtropical climate, with long warm summers and moderately warm winters. Amongst visitors, and locals alike, The Canaries are referred to as "The Land of Eternal Spring".

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and is a great place to travel. European tourists arrive by the tens of thousands every year to visit its spectacular beaches and experience its lively nightlife. Tenerife is probably one of the last paradise isles in Europe. It offers lush forests, exotic fauna and flora, deserts, mountains, volcanoes, incredibly beautiful coastlines and spectacular beaches.
