There are few places in the United States with as much character and charm as Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Home to world-class resorts, seemingly endless activities, and three of the most challenging alpine mountains in the country, Jackson Hole is an adventurer's paradise. Couples who dream of cozying up by a fire, dogsledding through backwoods, or knocking back glasses of whiskey at an old-time saloon need look no further than a Jackson Hole honeymoon.
As you peruse the town of Jackson, expect a wild west atmosphere (there's even a rodeo every summer). As U.S. ski towns become more and more commercial, the authentic vibe is rare, so be sure to soak it all in. Couples can post up in town (we love the Anvil Hotel) or opt to stay in Teton Village, a charming ski hub at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. This is especially ideal during winter, when life revolves around ski-in, ski-out (and après, of course).
After a few runs on the flagship mountain, make your way over to Snow King Mountain Resort or Grand Targhee Resort, two other world-class alpine destinations. If you need a break from the runs, Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park are just around the corner, offering tons of hiking trails, river rafting, and wildlife.

The best way to embrace Jackson Hole's wild west vibes: a low-key trail ride. Whether you're a novice or seasoned rider, you'll experience Grand Teton National Park the way early cowboys did -- on horseback. As you wander past pristine lakes, wildflower meadows, and scenic hillsides, take pause to appreciate the natural splendor. (And by that we mean post an Instagram.)
This late-1800s-era settlement is one of Jackson Hole, Wyoming's hallmark historic sites. Couples can get an authentic look at what life was like for early homesteaders in Grand Teton National Park. Their original cabins and barns still stand at the base of the Tetons.
One of the most iconic alpine runs in North America, Corbet's Couloir is challenging for even the most expert skiers/snowboarders. The steep drop-in may intimidate you from giving it a go, but once you do, epic powder awaits. If you're not quite skilled enough, no worries, there's a tram that passes over Corbet's every 10 minutes, allowing novices to watch daring skiers/riders take the plunge before safely sip hot chocolate at Corbet's Cabin.
Grand Teton's glacially-carved Jenny Lake is the second-largest lake in the park, covering roughly 1,191 acres. The best way to experience its natural beauty is to hike around the south end, starting at the Jenny Lake Trailhead. After some two and a half miles, you'll arrive at the impressive Hidden Falls, where water cascades roughly two hundred feet down a series of stone steps.
There's no better place to soothe sore muscles than at the Aman Spa at Amangani. Treatments are centered on ancient healing arts, such as Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and products are from the spa's own line, made with organic ingredients sourced from around the world. After a soothing couples' massage, take a dip in the 115-foot-long outdoor pool, with panoramic mountain views.
For a delicious date-night meal, pop over to this boutique bistro in Jackson (be sure to make a reservation in advance). Menu standouts include braised beef cheek pappardelle, truffle honey chicken, and confit rabbit with lemon, capers, and shallot. And since #sweatingforthewedding is over, feel free to indulge in that Nutella chocolate truffle cake.
It might be a little kitschy, but no Jackson Hole honeymoon is complete without a night out at Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. The saloon-style hotspot, located in the center of Downton Jackson, offers live music six nights a week and plenty of local color. Pop a squat on one of the saddle-topped bar stools and kick back with a beer (or five).
When the sun is shining and the weather is bright, do like the locals and head to Jackson Lake. Colter Bay Village is a prime access point, where you can rent kayaks, canoes, and fishing gear for a lazy afternoon adventure.
Romantic vibes are matched by the quality of craftsmanship that goes into the cocktails at this swanky lounge/bar. Founded by Dave Kaplan and Alex Day (of Death & Co. fame), The Rose serves classics, like the Old Fashioned and the French 75, alongside novel, seasonal creations. You may not recognize all the spirits on the menu (pierre ferrand dry curacao, tullamore d.e.w. caribbean rum), but the way they harmoniously combine with the handmade tinctures and syrups guarantee surprise and delight with every sip.
