Hello!

We are so excited to see everyone at our wedding! Ben and I have opted to register for a spectacular honeymoon rather than for household items or other gifts. We're thrilled that you've come here to help make our honeymoon plans memorable!

Although the dates haven't been confirmed yet, we plan to honeymoon in beautiful, historic, and quirky New Orleans during fall 2011. Ideally, we'd like to visit over Halloween and stay through the first week of November so we can experience the city when things are crazy-fun (Halloween) and when they're a bit calmer (not to mention the weather at that time of year is considered best).

After going through some travel books and researching online, we've come up with several places in the city we have to visit. New Orleans has some world-class hotels, incredible restaurants (hello, Cajun and Creole cooking!), ornate bars, and some of the best live music in the country. Between all of that and its southern charm (and mystery) this should be a trip to remember!

We're going to New Orleans, Louisiana!

We're headin' to The Big Easy to see the French Quarter, the fabled bayous, the fantastic mansions of the Garden District, and enjoy a city that is among the most unique in the world. Both of us have always wanted to visit New Orleans, and you can help us make that happen in the most memorable way!

Jazz at Preservation Hall - We will drop our admission in the hat and squeeze into one of the country's time-honored jazz institutions. This is jazz done right, and very old-school!

A Night at the Maple Leaf - A very New Orleans club and a terrific place to hang out. On nights when popular bands fill the place to hot, sweaty capacity and the crowd spills over into the street and dances right on the sidewalk, it's sublime.
Gift Fulfilled
A Cemetery Tour - New Orleans's above-the-ground tombs will be hard to forget once we've seen them, and touring these ghostly cities of the dead provides us with a unique look into the history and culture of the city.
Gift Fulfilled
Bourbon Street After Dark - Even if we end up hating it, we have to see it at least once. Music spurts and oozes out of windows and doors, drinkers reign supreme. It's wild, disgusting, and strangely exhilarating.
Gift Fulfilled
Club Hopping in the Frenchmen Section - This portion of the Faubourg Marigny features at least a dozen clubs and several bars, each with its own personality and charm.
Gift Fulfilled
Dancing to the ReBirth Brass Band - Dancing to three of the best musical acts New Orleans has to offer (a brass band, an astonishing soul crooner, and a jazz musician in the tradition of Louis Armstrong) is the physical manifestation of the word fun.
Gift Fulfilled
DIY Gift - Perhaps you've thought of an idea that we didn't? Create your own gift and we will make it happen. Who knows, we just might have a funny story for you!

Gift Fulfilled

What's a trip to the Big Easy without jambalaya? We've heard the best is at Coop's, so that's where we're headed! Seems it's a bit of a dive bar that just happens to have incredibly good food, but hey, Ben and I met in a dive bar, so why not?

Fried chicken and cornbread lunch at Willie Mae's Scotch House, a longstanding neighborhood soul food stand that was demolished by Katrina but quickly rebuilt by locals and visitors. It's reopening in 2007 marked the rebirth of the city.
