Hi everyone!

First off, we'd like to say that your presence at our wedding was the greatest gift we could ask for. The time, effort, and expense of traveling to be with us is something we deeply appreciate in our hearts, and we are so thrilled that we will be able to celebrate this happy occasion with you.

We're fortunate to have many of the household "essentials" that you'd often find on wedding registries, so we're focusing on our adventure of a lifetime (or, at least one of them!) and thought we'd share some of our plans for the trip, in case you'd like to be part of making it possible.

We'll do our best to document our experience via photo and include it in your much-deserved "thank you" note.

Thanks again for thinking of us.

We're going to New Zealand and Australia!

OK so a way better description is coming soon, but we're heading to the beautiful islands of New Zealand to drink in the staggering natural beauty like Milford Sound, the Waitomo glow worm caverns, and the Tongariro Alpine crossing, as well as the not-so-natural beauty of Hobbiton. Before we head to New Zealand, though, we'll hop over to Australia for a spell to see Sydney and the Great Barrier Reef.

Road-trip Camper Van - What if you could drive your hotel? I mean, what if that hotel could be wherever you want! We'll be seeing the country and sleeping many of the nights in a camper van, so we can set our own pace and enjoy the solitude.

We'll hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, an ~11 mile hike up and between Mt. Tongariro and Mt. Ngauruhoe, which was used as Mt. Doom in the Lord of the Rings movies. But one does not simply walk into Mordor...we're gonna need to get there and get gear.

Sarah has talked for years about seeing the glow worm caves in Waitomo, and now it can actually happen! We'll take a relaxing boat ride through the caves in the dark as the glow worms make a starry sky of their own on the cave ceiling.

Maori Cultural Tour/Hangi Meal - Maori culture is a huge part of New Zealand, and we want to learn more and experience it for ourselves.

The Interislander Ferry - We have to get between the two islands somehow. Good thing we have the option of one of the most beautiful ferries in the world! This is how we'll get from the North Island to the South to continue our journey

Swimming with Dolphins - on our way down the coast of the South Island, we'll stop in Kaikoura, where we'll swim with dolphins out in the open sea. Sounds pretty awesome to me.

The Queenstown Luge is an amazing set of luge tracks high on the cliffs overlooking the beautiful city of Queenstown and the massive Lake Wakatipu. A ticket gets us up there on the gondola and a bundle of luge rides!

Did you know Sarah loves the Lord of the Rings? Maybe you've heard. Down near Queenstown there are TONS of filming sites to go see. We'll go on a tour with fellow nerds to see Isengard, Lothlorien, and a bunch of other places that are just plain gorgeous.

Helicopter tour of Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers - Two amazing glaciers, and we'll take a ride around them, land on them, and circle mount Aoki.

Featherdale Wildlife Park You know how Australia was like Mother Nature's beta test? We'll go to Featherdale Wildlife Park in Sydney and see the amazing animals native to Australia. While we're there, we'll feed some kangaroos and pet a koala.

Reefsleep - OK, you're not going to believe this, but we'll spend a night sleeping on a giant pontoon out at the Great Barrier Reef. The beds are outdoors, and they're these awesome little pods just overlooking the reef.

Dinner at Spice I Am - The Thai restaurant in Sydney that made Brandon fall in love with Thai food! And Brandon's Thai food made Sarah fall in love with Brandon (she says it was his personality and his eyes or something, but c'mon. It was curry).

Scuba Diving the Great Barrier Reef - We're heading out to the Whitsunday Islands in Australia to see the Great Barrier Reef real quick before we actually head over to New Zealand, so Sarah can have her first scuba dive at the GBR!
