Ahoy!!

First off, we'd like to say that your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. The time, effort, and expense of traveling to be with us is something we deeply appreciate in our hearts, and we are so thrilled that we will be able to celebrate this happy occasion with you.

We have been blessed to have a lot of the "essential" home items a newly engaged couple needs minus some sheets and towels (Ashley says). And with minds and hearts focused on our upcoming trip around the world it is hard to think about what we might need when we return. We are so excited to start our life together in this way, creating memories around the world that will last a forever. We are excited for you all to help us create these memories on this once in a lifetime trip.

Take a look through our menu of things that we have chosen and find something that you would like for us to experience. If their is something that is not up there but you know that we would like there is a box at the bottom for a general gift. There you can specify what it is. We will receive an email telling us who has given to each item, helping us know who is sharing this moment with us. You can be looking for a postcard in the mail sometime in the next year from the destination you have chosen.

The trip:

Christopher and I will be setting off in August to travel the world for the Michael B. Keegan Traveling Fellowship. The fellowship's purpose is to enhance the development of future leaders through world travel and experiential learning. The program is designed to allow a graduating senior the opportunity to pursue an idea or an issue, about which the student is impassioned, and to do so in the context of daily life in a global scenario. Last May, I received the fellowship from Vanderbilt based on my proposal to use film as a tool to witness and share stories of people and cultures from around the world.

I met Christopher as I was applying for the fellowship and fell in love with him over our conversations about the power of witness, story, and cultural curiosity. As our desire for a life-long partnership grew between us, we also rejoiced at the amazing partnership we would share in this year long journey. My passion for film empowerment and his interest in conflict transformation and peacebuilding create a powerful duo for this journey of experience, reflection, and growth. As a team, we will work together to document unheard stories and use film as a platform to share voice.

We will also be keeping a video travel log of our journey, documenting the people, places, and ideas we explore. Once our site is up and running, you can follow us at www.tell-well.com.

We love that through this site we are able to share and experience our trip with you, as we will think of each of you through the gifts you give whether we are roller skating or visiting a museum.
