If you're reading this it means that Poeta Asher has agreed to marry Albert Gonzalez. Our courtship started only a few years ago but our journey to meet each other started in Chicago on June 12th 1980, when Albert was born. He spent the next 4 years learning to speak a new language (Poeta's question is what old language was he speaking previously?), walk and after the first few years, grow hair. Then on April 25th 1984 Poeta Beth Asher was born in Austin, Texas. After a few years Poeta caught up with Albert in communication and basic motor skills (growing hair wasn't an issue for her). When she was five she moved to India, then at eight she moved to Taiwan, and then back to Austin. Overachiever. She bounced back and forth after that between Chicago and Austin, Austin mostly. In 2009 two separate paths met at the corner of State and Grand. From there they traveled to New Orleans, New York and lived on Paradise Island.

Now we want to travel together internationally, next stop Thailand! This is it for us, beautiful beaches, history and food!! The kind of food we dream about. Fresh, spicy, exotic food. Noodles, hand made, freshly prepared, noodles - in rich broths with all sorts of chilies and meats. Pork, fish, beef, chicken, shrimp, crab, duck, snake, little birds, big birds and you know what else? Street food. Food from a stall that doesn't have a cooler, no health inspection score on the window and absolutely no webpage, Facebook or Twitter account. Really good food.
