Hello everyone!

Thank you for visiting our dream honeymoon website. Neither of us is known for being adventurous, but we have decided that as we take The Plunge we should probably take the plunge into exotic international travel (with all due respect to the great country of Canada).

For those of you coming to our wedding, please know that your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. The time, effort, and expense of traveling to be with us is something we sincerely appreciate, and we are thrilled to be able to celebrate this happy occasion with you.

We selected Vietnam as our honeymoon destination for several reasons. We wanted to travel somewhere neither of us had been before and to a place with a rich history, breathtaking landscape and welcoming culture. Plus, we just read a travel book for Vietnam that states, “[i]f you like rice for breakfast, you are really in luck.” Lonely Planet: Vietnam. If you did not already know, Amy has a gluten allergy and Lauren is neurotic about protecting Amy’s tummy, so Vietnam’s rice-based diet was a major plus. We also read that the best time to visit Vietnam is in April/May, which happens to be perfect timing with our honeymoon schedule.

Our trip covers Vietnam’s three climates/regions (north, central and south). Our adventures are mostly based on recommendations from friends, colleagues and Facebook. We plan to start our trip in the north, with a visit to Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi. Next, we hope to take an overnight boat cruise in the magnificent Halong Bay. Then we move on to Hoi An in central Vietnam where we hope to stay at a beautiful beach resort close to the city. Our last stop will likely be Ho Chi Minh City (or Saigon), where we will take in the City’s arts scene and learn the Vietnamese perspective of the Vietnam/American War.

We cannot adequately express how excited we feel for this honeymoon. Below you will find some of the places we hope to stay, places to which we want to travel and other adventures we would like to pursue. Thank you so much for considering a gift toward this once in a lifetime experience!
