Hi everyone!

First off, we'd like to say that your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. The time, effort, and expense of traveling to be with us is something we deeply appreciate in our hearts, and we are so thrilled that we will be able to celebrate this happy occasion with you.

We have been blessed to possess the majority of "essential" home items a typically newly engaged couple needs (let's face it, 'the cottage' is well equipped, and the kitchen is tiny). We hope you find this registry as a way to help us make our perfect honeymoon come true!

While we have taken many exciting trips together, we are very much looking forward to our first real adventure travelling abroad together as husband and wife; getting to experience many of the familiar sites Michael so enjoyed when he was stationed in Italy - not to mention the heritage.

It is because of the lifetime of memories we will gain from this trip that we finally settled on a honeymoon registry. We greatly appreciate and will fondly remember these gifts for years to come. After all, the memories from this honeymoon will last a lot longer than a new set of wine glasses (especially at Michael's breakage rate!).

As we are getting closer to the wedding and our travel plans are evolving we are definitely welcoming tips, suggestions, and recommendations!

We'll do our best to document our travels with photos to share when we return home, and include it in your much-deserved "thank you" notes.

Thanks again and we can't wait to see you at the wedding (or earlier!).

We're going to Italy: Florence, Chianti, Brindisi, and Rome!

Our initial plans include flying into Rome, and hopping on a train to Florence. We will spend the first three days in Florence before moving on to Siena, and Chianti. Then we will make our way 'back home' to Brindisi where Michael was stationed and visit with the Nino and the Covino family. The final four days of our trip will be spent back in Rome soaking up the beauty and history of the eternal city.

Firenze: we will stay at the historic Loggiato dei Serviti, facing Brunelleschi's Spedale degli Innocenti, in Piazza della Santissima Annunziata. A 5 minute walk from Michelangelo's David and less than 10 minutes from the Cathedral.

Markets of Florence - The city has two famous open-air markets the Mercato Centrale and the Mercato Nuovo. Food shopping is so much more our style than designer clothing. We will grab some picnic supplies and head towards Boboli Gardens.

Bicycle Rentals to ride the walls of Lucca. Saturday we will take the train to Lucca. The walls surrounding the old centre of Lucca are 12 metres high and some 25 metres wide!
