Our first destination is the Amalfi coast in Italy. We plan to arrive in Rome, then take the train to Naples. From there we will take a car to Ravello and stay the rest of the week. While in Ravello we hope to visit Pompeii, Capri, swim in the ocean, and see all the beautifil surrounding areas. We'll also test our Italian language skills and refine our palates by eating great food and drinking great wine! At the end of the week, we will have a driver take us to Naples for a flight to Nice via Stuttgart (we figured out the train to Nice requires an overnight stay in Genoa, so instead found a flight on Air Berlin that took 3 hours but routes through Germany - ha).

In Nice, we will stay two nights and explore the city and surrounding countryside. From Nice we will take the train up to Paris and remain there the rest of the week. We found an apartment, with a huge patio, in Paris in the latin quarter to rent for a week so we can feel comfortable. Since we have both been in Paris a lot over the years, we will be taking some day trips to places outside of Paris we have not yet been to together. We plan to visit the champagne caves in Reims (Veuve Cliquot and Pommery), explore Fontainbleau, see Giverny, and anything else that sounds fun. We plan to enjoy our nights in Paris dining out, and more drinking great wine, and eating great food!

Alas, after two weeks, we will then head home and try to get back into the whole work thing again......
