How We Met
Believe it or not, we met online! After chatting one night, we exchanged phone numbers. The first time we spoke, we talked on the phone for about an hour and we both recall that it was so easy talking to someone from the same neck of the woods! The conversation led to a happy hour "date" at Season's Rotisserie in Old Town Albuquerque. The "happy hour" date turned into dinner and a great night of getting to know each other over dinner and several Crown and Gingers.

The Last Year
Since we met we have discovered a mutual interest in travel. Over the last year, we have been all over the place:

- In January, we spent New Year's Eve in Phoenix and the following days hanging out with the other Ikner Boys in Prescott, AZ
Chuck's note: I knew she was a keeper when she could survive the four of us (plus Cousin Matt) cocktailing for two days.

- In February, we spent a weekend at Austin hanging out with friends.

- In April, we spent a week in Chicago where we attended opening day at Wrigley Field.

- In May, we spent a week in Las Vegas at the Red Rock Casino Resort.

- In June, we spent 4 days in Tucson, AZ celebrating Fen Ikner's marriage.

- In August, we went to San Francisco for a weekend then travelled to the East Coast to driver from Pittsburgh, PA to Jacksonville, FL (1100 miles) hitting Morgantown (WV), Lewisburg (WV), Hendersonville (NC), and Hilton Head (SC) on the way down.

- In September, we spent a weekend in Santa Fe where we got engaged at the Inn on the Alameda.

- Last month we spent our first of many Thankgivings together in Prescott, AZ (and Gina again survived hanging out with all 4 Ikner boys.)

- This month we will travel back to the East Coast to celebrate our Wedding in Lewisburg, WV!

Our Family
We have a 3 year old German Shorthair Pointer named Sumter (the boy) and a 12 year old Jack Russell Terrier named Kelsee. They're the funniest and sweetest dogs in the world!

Our Wedding
We were married on a frigid New Year's Eve 2009 at Blackwell's Restaurant in Wild Wonderful Lewisburg, West Virginia. There was a blue moon that night, and several inches of snow on the ground. We spent the week at The Greenbrier Resort enjoying our friends and families. It was a perfect holiday vacation, and we loved every minute of it.

The New Mexico Wedding Reception
We realize that West Virginia is not the easiest place in the world to find much less travel to over the holidays (especially for our West Coast/NM based friends.) So, we are having a reception in Albuquerque February 6th 2009. Details to come!

We're going to Dominican Republic- Punta Cana!

On a sun drenched beach on the east coast of the Dominican Republic, Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana welcomes singles, couples and families to a world of Unlimited-Luxury®. This idyllic haven boasts gorgeous beaches, a majestic turquoise sea, shimmering pools and tropical gardens.

Elegantly-appointed rooms and suites offer luxury amenities, private and furnished balconies or terraces, flat screen TVs, daily refreshed mini bars (which we would never use) with soft drinks, juices, bottled water and beer, and 24-hour room and concierge services. Eight internationally themed restaurants and five bars (which we would never go to), located in stunning indoor and outdoor settings provide delectable gourmet dining options. Pamper yourself with a variety of unique indigenous treatments (which are overly indulgent and undesireable to us) at the world-class spa or get your heart rate going at the state-of-the-art fitness center.

Upgrade to a Preferred Club room (with your generous donation;-) and receive exceptional services and world-class amenities that include: a Private lounge (hope they serve kool aid and cake), Impressive Ocean Views, Private Preferred Lounge, Preferred Status and Amenities, Private pool area, Concierge service, Daily continental breakfast served in lounge, hot and cold afternoon hors d'oeurvres (what the hell is a cold hors?), complimentary in-suite wireless internet access, exquisite desserts and fine liquors (again, we would never use this) in the lounge, daily complimentary newspaper, upgraded mini bar service (great- maybe good OJ?), and upgraded bath amenities.
