Hi everyone,
Welcome to our official registry page and thanks for visiting. Most of you know us but might not know how I popped the question to Amy so here it goes,
I had planned the proposal around our annual trip to Mexico, NY (Amy's hometown) near the Thousand Island area of New York state. We love the Thousand Island area so every time we go to New York we always visit this incredible place. On this trip I surprised her with a boat tour to Singer Castle on Dark Island because we had never been there before. Unbeknownst to her I had a little surprise, I had planned to propose to Amy in the rose Garden on the castle grounds, a place that is used for weddings. My plan was to use the 100 people on the tour to be the Guests at this "Staged Wedding". I had the castle staff arrange the tour to run backwards because they usually start in the rose garden. At the end of the tour I conveniently had to stop at the bathroom so the tour could get in place and because I also had to get the ring and ring box out of my sock (Which I had been carrying around the ENTIRE time!!!).
When I came out we continued into the rose garden where this "Wedding" was about to take place. I said to her "There must be a wedding happening??" and she believed me until everyone started taking pictures of us!! That's when she knew something was up... I took her by the hand, walked her down the isle to the Arch overlooking the St. Lawrence River and asked her to marry me. After she said yes everyone applauded and Blew Bubbles. At the end of the moment the General manager proclaimed us King and Queen of the castle.
The next surprise was that I had rented the entire island, Castle and all for the entire evening. After everyone had left We had a Catered Dinner in the Great room then everyone left the island for an incredibly romantic evening, touring the castle grounds on our own, Taking pictures during long walks by the St Lawrence River before going back to our beautiful suite overlooking both the American and Canadian borders.
In the morning the staff returned and served breakfast in the Sun room. It's an incredible room surrounded by Cathedral windows overlooking Canada to the Northeast and America to the southwest... The sun rose in Canada and set in America.....The Sunsets were unbelievable!!
The castle staff was so impressed with the idea and being part of it (And probably because we work for Disney!!), they invited the news media to be there, and although I'm not sure if we were on the news or not (No TV in Room!!! Thank goodness!!!) a photographer took a few shots and wrote an an article in the Thousand Island Sun. When we returned to Mexico NY I had one final surprise for Amy. I had a "one of a kind", commissioned Animated drawing of her standing in front of Singer Castle as "Princess Amy" from a well known Disney Animator...The picture is in the slide show above!!
