Welcome to our Honeymoon registry.
When we were setting up everything for the wedding, we discussed that we really didn't need a ton of stuff for the house. I found this honeymoon registry and thought that that would be perfect. Everyone can help us celebrate the start of our marriage together.
We are headed to Panama. Yes, it's not a typical honeymoon location, but it's perfect for what we wanted. We were interested in beach/sun and somewhere a little different and exotic. Selden hasn't seen a rain forest or what the tropics this far south have to offer. Mary Claire has traveled elsewhere in Central America and has had the San Blas islands of Panama (locally known as the Kuna Yala) on her list of places to see for awhile.
We plan some time at a beach resort and then several days sailing on a charter boat in the Kuna Yala. After all, we did meet while sailing and share that passion together.
For those of you skeptical about this registry, there are choices for more typical gifts as well on our website.
We're going to Panama!
We leave Portland, Maine, and take the Portland to Logan bus the morning after the wedding to catch our flight to Panama City. We arrive in the evening and spend the first night there. We then head to an on-the-water resort just outside of Bocas de Toro where we will spend two nights. There will be surf, monkeys, birds and beautiful crystal clear water. The resort has snorkeling, fishing, swimming, kayaking and just plain relaxing.
We then fly back to Panama City for a night before flying to meet up with the sailboat and will spend a few days sailing and exploring the Kuna Yala islands. These islands are part of a semi-autonomous region of Panama inhabited by the Kuna Indians. There are many unspoiled tropical islands and good snorkeling and exploring.
We then return to Panama City for one night before flying out the next morning. We hope explore the city a bit and watch the life on the canal.
