Thank you for viewing our Honeymoon Registry!
We want to do a little bit of everything; but for realities sake we won't be going where we dream of . . .save that for our 10th anniversery!

About Our Honeymoon

Thursday April 1-2, 2010 . . .
the first destination on our list is Frankenmuth. Hopefully the first night we can get a big room & a big dinner, then after check-out the next morning we can scout out the town, view the eclectic shops, look for an arcade, see some horse drawn carriages, watch the bakers make fudge ...mmm free samples! After we buy some varrious flavors of fresh made fudge we will check into the Fairfield Inn Frankenmuth. It's cheaper without the crazy pools & waterslides (which I've only read about.) Should we rent a car? One with a big back seat and great gas mileage! :)

Saturday April 3, 2010 . . .
After check out we can check out any cool places we may have missed, like the basement soppes oh the restraunts and hotels, and then Bronner's to buy our first Offical "First Christmas" ornament for our family christmas tree.
Then more driving, we should get to Lewiston just before dark. Perhaps light a few sparklers before sitting on the edge of the lake watching the sun set over the island. I doubt that it will be warm enough for a swim, but we can still camp outside with the crickets.

Sunday April 4 . . .
If we wake up in time maybe we can find the church in town. Have breakfast at the Villiager, see the old faces. Hopefully Bob's still has ice cream, and the mini golf didn't close down; the new place has an arcade and go-carts...
I'd like to buy us (matching?)Over-priced honeymoon / tourist tee-shirts that say Lewiston / Up North. Pizza & Ice cream for lunch, followed by a walk down main to the town access beach.
Then we have just enough time to start driving again. Our new destination is Mackinaw Island. I love riding the ferry directly to the island, and it lets off just out front of the Grand Hotel. I've never staied there, but it looks Grand.

Monday April 5 . . .
On the Island there are no cars, only horses, carriages, and bicycles. Many things to see, similar to Frankenmuth. Little shoppes, bakeries, historical land marks, and nature with adventurous landscapes. A whole island to explore!
But soon we must depart.

Tuesday April 6 . . .
a long westardly drive to Traverse City. I hope to scheduls a hop-on wine tour. they drive to 3-4 vinyards, we taste and sample, we can buy, but don't have to. we can buy a bottle, or a case or two. (a place down river supposedly has a vinyard and guests learn how to mix grapes to invent different wine varrieties, a reconmended use for all the wine from the batch is to use it for your wedding or for a group to split it. they give you lables - for free I believe.) Well, after all of the wine swishing and spitting, plus the dust from dirt roads or alleys we will want to take a break and change into a nice shirt. Then have dinner.

Wednesday April 7
After Traverse City all the surrounding country sides and parks, we take a very long journey down the western edge of Michigan, and slip past the border, as we make our way to Chicago! First on my list is the Science Center Museum, then the Art Museum, there is an Aquarium, and a Planetarium! Afterwards we can lazily walk the parks, have a picnic; see if we can afford a room AND gasoline to get back into Michigan.
Kevin will need his rest from driving, and we could find a room ith a good view... or just start driving in the middle of the night.

Thursday April 8-10
This will be our last long drive, and with no scheduled stops along the way our hopes will rely on the GPS to find local gas stations, fast food, and rest stops. ...Since Ceader Point won't be open until mid May, we are going camping in Michigan, just outside of Jackson, Mi

Saturday April 10
We will end our tour of local-but-not-so-local locations. Before we reach 'Home" we can hose off and cool off or warm up at the malls. Westland Mall has a Macy's, so does 12 Oaks Mall in Novi, which also has a wedding department. I think they both have an FYE, and Kevin Loves movies!
Well, we will be closer to his parents on the way home... unless we take I-96 like we always do. . .
We will get off just at my mommy's house, we can visit Gabrelle, then take a much neded fresh water shower!
Then climb into bed together, and get a nice long good nights' SLEEP!
...Maybe a few hours over at Greek Town Casino! He loves to gamble, I love the night life and dressing up! I wish we'd get some VIP treatment for being on our Honeymoon! ... room up grades? Spa / massages? gifts? free drinks?
well, as long as we don't loose all of our money at the casino...!
