December 13, 2009

Hello everyone!

After recently melding two households, it became obvious that we already own at least one each of the everyday "stuff" needed in most homes. We struggled for a long time with the idea of a registry- do we have one, do we not.

We shared our dilemma with some friends and family and were convinced that we should have a registry. Well, here goes: instead of dishes or another candle holder, we've decided to share some of the sights and highlights (OK not all the highlights) of our honeymoon to Tuscany. We hope that by sharing our itinerary you'll be a part of our adventure.

Rafael and I want to thank you all for supporting us throughout the years - we can't wait to celebrate with you in December!

Love, Isabel and Rafael

We're going to Tuscany!

We know there's never enough time to experience all Tuscany has to offer, the following highlights part of our honeymoon plan:

Our adventure begins in Milan. After arriving at Malpensa, we'll travel to the city center and check in at the Hotel STRAF just off the Duomo and Galleria. After regaining our land legs, we will explore the immediate neighborhood, and enjoy our first dinner as newlyweds. We'll probably have Italian.

After saying goodbye to Milan we're heading to Lucca. The walled city of Lucca is considered by many to be a jewel amongst Tuscan towns. Our stay in Lucca will remind us why we love Tuscany as we do.

From Lucca we continue our reacquaintance with Tuscany with stops in Pisa and Marina di Pisa.

Leaving Marina di Pisa behind, we start the serious business of paying homage to the grape. Onward through the chianti region to Siena and the nearby villages of Montalcino and Montepulciano.

Florence is next on our itinerary. Crossing the Arno, we arrive in the beautiful city of Florence. A city we hope to someday call home and welcome our friends and family to. We plan to re-visit our favorite spots over the next few days. Between the museums lined with frescoes, paintings and sculptures, and the architecturally magnificent piazzas and structures surrounding us, we will definitely overdose on our love and appreciation for the beauty this city holds.

Time to say arrivederci, and start our return to Miami. We wrap up our honeymoon with an overnight stay in London. In this wonderful city we plan to drink some ale and catch a performance in the theater district.
