Well.. This day has been coming for a long, long time. Over a decade. And all of you know us pretty well. A jazzy little livewire of a girl and a kooky, Buster Keaton-esque guy. We wanted to go somewhere completely different and a place that we would remember forever. We thought, New Orleans? Naw. We go there from time to time anyways. Panama City? Naw. Too busy. What about... ooooooooooooh! A sleepy little town on the forgotten coast, on the bay, where we can relax! So... we looked and looked and finally decided on Port St. Joe, Florida and the surrounding areas. Seems... like heaven!
We decided to pick a honeymoon registry in lieu of the traditional wedding gift registries since we have most of the things we need for our house, and honestly, we would rather all of you help us to create some of the fondest memories of our lives that we will carry forever. And who needs another toaster anyways?
We're going to Newville, Panama City Beach, New Orleans!
We are going to start our grand journey by leaving home and heading to Shawn's family hometown of Newville, AL. When we arrive there we are going to prepare for the wedding and be married there September 19th in Newville Baptist Church. We're going to leave the church and head back to the family house and get ready for the reception that Shawn's absolutely wonderful Aunt Melba is hosting for us at her house! We love you so much Melba and thank you! From there we are planning to leave after our reception and drive to stay one night in Panama City Beach for a joyous honeymoon night hopefully somewhere on the beach with a balcony. On September 20th we plan to leave for Port St. Joe, FL. Our dream place to stay is the Old Saltworks Cabins, on the peninsula outside of town in a cabin called "The Lookout". A true gem in the area, delightfully stowed away in between the Bay St. Joseph and the Gulf Of Mexico. It's a short drive to anywhere in the area and there are lots of attractions for people. We want to stay for 6 nights and 7 days to take in as much of the area and it's splendour as possible. Florida has always been a place that we have loved, cherished and held dear to our hearts and wanted to visit together.
What do we want to do in Port St. Joe? There's so much to do there! We want to go on horseback rides on the beach, and a ferry ride out to the state parks to see all the birds and wolves and turtles and other awesome creatures!.. take tours through all the historic sections of town and look at the beauty of their Southern architecture... of course we want to eat all that great seafood..take in some of the local music scene.. There are local museums... snorkeling, parasailing, dive spots, fresh and saltwater fishing (both deep and shallow water) and so much more! We would like to get down here and relax for a bit on the beach, walk hand in hand and watch the beautiful sunrises and sunsets in this secret gem of a place!
