Ia Orana! Thank you for visiting our registry! Nicki and I are very excited to see you all in April...but are equally excited for the two weeks we will spend afterward exploring the islands of French Polynesia. Shortly after the wedding Nicki will begin her residency, which will signify the end of life-as-we-know-it for a period of time, so we are thrilled to be traveling to a part of the world that we may not have the opportunity to return to for many, many years. We chose French Polynesia for many reasons, including its remoteness, the over-water bungalows and the SCUBA diving. The first birthday present Nicki ever got me was a SCUBA certification, and we have made periodic trips down to the Keys for some shallow-water dives, but this trip promises to stretch the limits of our experience. Our trip will be split between 4 islands (see below), and each one looks more beautiful and exotic than the previous!

We're going to Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Rangiroa!

After a couple days rest following the wedding, Nicki and I will be taking the trip of a lifetime to the islands of French Polynesia. Departing Tuesday the 28th, we begin our journey on the main island of French Polynesia, Tahiti. We will <a href="http://www.starwoodhotels.com/lemeridien/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1906">explore Tahiti</a> for three days, before making the short trip to the more private island of <a href="http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/PPTMLHI-Hilton-Moorea-Lagoon-Resort-and-Spa/index.do">Moorea</a>. In Moorea we will spend 7 days and nights exploring the island and the waters surrounding it before continuing our travels in <a href="http://www.starwoodhotels.com/lemeridien/property/rooms/index.html?propertyID=1905">Bora Bora</a>. Our last, and most private, stop on the journey will be to the sparsely inhabited islands of <a href="http://www.hotelkiaora.com/home.php">Rangiroa</a>. Rangiroa is known the world-around as one of the top shark-diving areas on earth (hence the reason this is the last stop on the trip...should one of them be particularly hungry...).
