Hi everyone!

Thanks for visiting our registry site. We are looking forward to seeing you all in Philadelphia for our October 2009 wedding! It will be wonderful to have all of our family and friends there to share this special day with us. We hope that you'll love Philadelphia and its historic charm as much as we do!

As you all know, we moved to a new condo in Huntingdon Valley in January and while we love it here, our new home does pose some challenges in terms of storage. As a result, we decided to create a honeymoon registry that will allow us to celebrate our marriage with a once-in-a-lifetime trip, while also not overwhelming our rather limited cabinet and closet space!

For those of you preferring a more traditional option, we also registered for items at Bloomingdale's, Crate & Barrel, and Wishlist Boutique which you can access online or in stores.

Thanks again for sharing in our special celebration!

Love always,

~ Carly and Alan

We're going to South Africa!

As many of you know, one of our passions in life is traveling. We love to visit new places and explore different cultures all over the world. So when we were deciding on a honeymoon destination we decided that we wanted to go somewhere neither of us has ever been, somewhere where we would not normally travel to and somewhere that had both sightseeing, adventure and beach all within a two week trip.

After much research, our hearts were both set on the magnificent country of South Africa!!! We will be leaving the good old USA on Sunday, November 1st for a 16 hour direct flight to Johannesburg, South Africa (said to be one of the longest direct commercial flights in the world). Upon arriving in Johannesburg, we will spend the night there before hoping on a flight to our first honeymoon destination, a safari in Kruger National Park. Kruger National Park is South Africa's largest national park and is the size of the state of Israel. We will stay in a luxurious lodge for 2-3 nights in the bush surrounded by The Big 5; lions, leopards, elephants, rhinosand buffalo ... a little different from our Philadelphia Basketball Big 5!

From there we are heading via plane to the world class city of Cape Town, South Africa. We will spend 4 nights in cosmopolitan Cape Town, touring Robben Island (Nelson Mandela's prison home for more than 20 years), beaching with African penguins, climbing Table Mountain, sunset cruising and enjoying romantic evenings together as newlyweds.

Before leaving the Cape Town area, we will spend our final night at one of South Africa's world renowned vineyards tasting different red (for Alan) and white (for Carly) wines. We will then rent a car and head for the Garden Route, which is South Africa's gold coast and home to beautiful beaches and lush landscapes. Golf will be included on this part of the trip (Carly will be Alan's caddy!!!) along with couples massages and local day trips/sunbathing. From there it's off to our last stop...

The World Famous Shamwari Game Reserve in the southern part of South Africa. We will stay at a luxurious air-conditioned "tent" lodge in the middle of the bush, where everything is 5 star!!! There we will again encounter African animals in their natural habitat during our guided early morning and evening game drives. From there it's home sweet home as Mr. and Mrs. Alan Bromberg. We can't think of a better honeymoon to kickoff off the rest of our lives together!!!
