What a way to start our trip! Our African honeymoon begins with a stop in Cape Town with a stay at the Mount Nelson Hotel. A warm welcome, indeed, to the beautiful beaches, Winelands and mountains of the Cape!

We'll start our journey with a full day tour of Cape Peninsula. Exploring the pristine beaches of South Africa. We'll even get up close and personal with penguins at beautiful Boulder Beach. Melissa's particularly excited about the penguins!

We'll escape the metropolitan beauty of Cape Town and go exploring South Africa's Winelands. With a stop at Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch before stopping at lunch at the famous Moyo at Spier. We just couldn't resist! Wine? Wine Not?!!!

We'll leave Cape Town and travel to Walker Bay, known as the heart of the whale route! We will stay at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve where we'll stay in the Forest Lodge. We're definitely going to enjoy our private luxury cottage!

We couldn't visit South Africa and skip out on sharks! TJ has always wanted to shark dive and Melissa has always wanted to...watch! Shark Alley, a sea channel off the Cape coast, is a hunting ground for sharks, including massive Great White Sharks.

Since TJ gets to feed and swim with the sharks, Melissa gets to choose an activity, too! We'll explore as much as we can of Grootbos Nature Reserve on horseback! Giddy up!

We'll say goodbye to Cape Town and board our flight to Johannesburg where we'll connect to our onward flight to Mpumalanga, near Kruger National Park. Leavin'...On a Jet Plane...well, you know the rest!

We'll spend our first Christmas as a married couple traveling to Hazyview, in Mpumalanga. We'll rest up at this adorable boutique hotel, Perry's Bridge Hollow, right next to Kruger National Park! Gotta conserve our energy for all that's to come!

After checking out at Perry's Bridge Hollow, we'll stop by Elephant Whispers, a camp dedicated to securing the future of the African elephant. We love visiting elephants every visit to Thailand, so it's about time we check out their African brethren!

After our encounter with the elephants, we'll head over to the Sabi Sand Game Reserve bordering Kruger National Park and check into the Lion Sands Camp. Tons of wildlife and scenery, not to mention our own private lodge with a private game viewing deck!

At Lion Sands, we'll enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including a Full Moon Walk, Wildlife Lectures, Bush Dinners and Breakfasts, and Hippo Tours! We'll be nice and tired, not to mentioned more cultured and educated on our return!

Y'all didn't think we'd make it all the way to Sabi Sand Game Reserve's Lion Sands and not go on as many safaris game drives as we could, did you?

We'll head out after a morning safari and head to the local airstrip so we can catch our flight back to Johannesburg...because flying is so much better than walking!

For our last ("real") night in South Africa, we'll spend a night in Johannesburg at The Grace in Rosebank. A small intimate hotel set in the heart of an intimate suburb of Johannesburg.

On another flight we go! Now we'll fly on Air Botswana to Maun, Botswana. After clearing customs, we'll meet with our pilot and board our aircraft to the Okavango Delta.

In Botswana, you'll find us staying at the amazing Khwai River Lodge (we'll be here on New Years!) on the Khwai River in the Okavango Delta! We'll live it up in thatched luxury tents all with our private deck overlooking the Khwai River.

For the 2 to 3 days, we'll indulge in all the Khwai River and Khwai River Lodge has to offer us - from bird watching, guided safari river walks,and stargazing presentations to relaxing at the spa. Sounds relaxing and exciting all at the same time!

Botswana? Okavango Delta? Safari, here we come!! Khwai River Lodge is located in the Moremi Game Reserve, widely acknowledged as the predator capital of the world! Hope we come back alive!

We'll say goodbye to Botswana and our new found "bush friends" and board our flight to Livingstone, via Kasane. Because, again...flying is so much better than walking!

For 4 amazing nights, we get to stay at the Sussi Lodge, right on the banks of the Zambezi. We'll stay in our very own luxury tree-house built into the living canopy of ebony trees. We don't think we'll ever leaf..er...we mean leave!

We're goin' explorin! Explorin' the Zambian side of Victoria Falls! Considered by many as one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World! We'll also go into the rain forest on the Zambian side! Who knows where we'll end up!

A game drive, you say? A game drive?! We're there! Mosi-oa-Tunya ("The Smoke That Thunders" referring to Vic Falls) National Park is where Zambia's only white rhino can be spotted! We'll also run into zebras, giraffes, and antelopes, oh my!

A Sundowner cruise! What a great way to see the Zambezi river!

Alas...our trip has come to an end. You'll miss us by now, we're sure...so help us come home! We're going to need to fly from Zambia back to Johannesburg so we can hurry home and share all our wonderful memories with you!
