We are so honored and excited to share our wedding with you - that is the greatest gift possible. We're looking forward to seeing everyone and spending our special day together with you!
Both of us had our own places before moving in together, so we've got a lot of the essentials already. We have a more traditional registry for the things we don't have, or need to replace, which can be found here.
While we have taken several trips together, this next one is incredibly special to us since it's our honeymoon. We've put together a wonderful itinerary that will take us to a number of scenic and romantic locales, fom Venice, to Austria, then to Switzerland and back to Venice. All of our travel will be by train so we have the opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous scenery along the way.
It is because of the lifetime of memories we will gain from this trip that we finally settled on a honeymoon registry. We greatly appreciate and will fondly remember these gifts for years to come. And we'll do our best to document our experience via photo and include it in your much-deserved "thank you" note.
Thanks again and we can't wait to see you at the wedding (or earlier!).
Love,
Cheryl & Roger
We're going to venice!
We can't tell you how excited we are for this honeymoon. We've included some of the activities and experiences we'll be enjoying below. Thank you so much for considering a gift toward this once in a lifetime experience!
We are flying in to Venice, Italy and will spend a couple of nights there, exploring the city. Cheryl has never been to Italy so we are excited to experience this unique, romantic city together. Plans include the must-do gondola ride as well as a lot of wandering and exploring.
From Venice we will travel to Bolzano/Bozen, a city in the South Tyrol province of north Italy, set in a valley amid hilly vineyards. It's a gateway to the Dolomites mountain range in the Italian Alps. This beautiful city is both German and Italian, resulting in a rich architectural, historical and cuisine experience. Roger visited the city years ago, and is looking forward to returning to see how it has changed.
Our next stop is Innsbruck, Austria, capital of the western state of Tyrol. Innsbruck is also known for its Imperial and modern architecture. This beautiful alpine destination, with its historical buildings, breathtaking scenery and snow-capped mountains, is one of the most wonderful places to visit in Europe and we look forward to exploring the city and surrounds for a couple of days.
From Innsbruck, a scenic train ride will take us to Zurich then Appenzell to experience two sides of Switzerland: a large, cosmopolitan city and a small, rural town and region steeped in tradition. While in Appenzell, we will visit the local brewery for a beer tasting and ride the Appenzeller Bahnen to nearby villages to soak in the unique traditions and culture. And, eat cheese!
We then head to Milan, a global capital of fashion and design, for a night on the way back to Venice. Hopefully the short time we'll be there will limit Cheryl's ability to buy all of the shoes in the city! We plan to visit some of the city's cultural attractions, including the Last Supper, and enjoy a delicious dinner.
Then it's back to Venice for our last night before flying back home to Chicago. We're sure the boys will be ready for us to come back home by this time!
