1. Eat

Gott's Roadside

Whether it's renowned spots like Redd or Ad Hoc, the region is ripe with incredible upscale dining experiences. However, when it comes to delicious cheap eats, the No. 1 spot easily goes to Gott's Roadside (formerly Taylor's Refresher). Prepare to sink your teeth into mouth-watering menu items like the green chili cheeseburger or ahi poke crispy taco -- all while dining alfresco at red picnic tables.

2. Drink

Schramsberg Vineyards

This picturesque vineyard is home to some of the finest sparkling wines in the world. Tours of the gorgeous grounds (which includes a Victorian house, refurbished barn, and scenic tree-lined roads) end deep inside a 125-year-old wine cave where oenophiles can sample up to five wines in candlelight.

3. Stay

The Carneros Inn

On top of sweeping views of the countryside, this boutique property offers three excellent restaurants, two pools with hot tubs, a terrific spa facility, and a variety of accommodation options, most notably stylish cottages.

4. Do

Hot Air Balloon Ride and Picnic

Start the day with a sunrise hot air balloon ride via Napa Valley Balloons. The unforgettable journey includes a champagne breakfast upon touchdown. After hours of getting a bird's-eye view, plan for a romantic afternoon hike and picnic. Stock up on supplies at Model Bakery before hitting the trails at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park.

The Barlow

Once an apple processing plant, this recently opened arts and culinary center combines local wine, beer, coffee, farm-to-table cuisine, community markets, and art galleries into a one-of-a-kind destination.
