Welcome to our honeymoon registry and thank you for sharing this special event with us! What is a honeymoon registry? Well, the name kind of says it all. When we looked at how much "stuff" we already owned, we just really didn't want to add to the materialism of the world with traditional wedding gifts. Plus, since the love of travel is one of the passions that brought us together we thought the perfect idea would be to ask for help with our first adventure as husband and wife.

Read through the sections below to learn more about our dream destination, then look further below to see the lists of events and amounts you can give as gifts. We have tried to divide up the items for all budgets, but please understand we appreciate your good wishes and friendship far above any money. Give if you wish, but join us for the wedding regardless!

Below the registry you will find more pictures of us and of our destination, so look through and enjoy and we both are so anxious to see everyone on the beach in Florida!

We're going to The Dalmatian coast of Croatia!

True to our personalities, we had to pick someplace a little different and off the beaten path. We wanted a unique and exotic culture, crystal clear waters, islands to explore, museums and ancient ruins, wonderful fresh food and good local wines, and to top it off someplace were we could stretch the weak U.S. dollar. Not a lot to ask, huh?!?! But after some research we think we found the perfect place: Croatia!

More specifically we are traveling to the Dalmation coast region, across the Adriatic sea from Italy and summer retreat of princes, kings, and czars since 200 B.C. Ancient ruins of castles, walled cities, and red-tiled roofs still exist along the coast and among the many islands of legend and lore. We will actually be touring the islands that inspired Homer to write the Iliad and the Odyssey!

We will fly from Ft. Walton Beach to Atlanta, then Munich, Germany, and finally to the middle of the Dalmatian coast to the city of Split. From there, a family will be picking us up and driving us across the world heritage site island of Trogir and over to our apartment on the island of Ciovo.
See our apartment

We picked this spot as our "base camp" due to the beauty of the area, as well as the ability to do many day trips to other sites along the coast we wanted to see. The closest of these is the island and ancient walled city of Trogir.
Learn more about Trogir Then it is on to the mainland and the very large city of Split. This is home to such ruins as the palace of Diocletian and a variety of museums and street cafes to sit back and people watch (how European!).
See Split Next on the list is the unique natural formations of the Krka National Park and the series of waterfalls along the river.
See Krka Finally after a long trip down the coast we will see the famous walled city on the southernmost peninsula of Croatia, Dubrovnik.
See it here .

After 12 days of sunshine, fresh seafood, local wine, and local color, we take off for home stopping in Zurich, Switzerland, Atlanta, and back to Ft. Walton Beach. This is one of many places we hope to see during our lives together, so get ready for YEARS of slideshows and vacation photos!

What could be more fun than driving in a foriegn country on the coast? Doing it on scooters! This will make a day trip down to a picnic on a remote beach MUCH easier.

We both love to kayak and spending a day drifting through the crystal blue waters along the white walls and red roofs sounds like paradise.

One of the most fun ways to get to know a place is buying fresh fruits and vegetables from the local market. Of course we don't know any Croatian, so I am not sure what we will be buying!

And while we are at the local market, I really should get my new bride some fresh flowers!

One of the reasons we choose Croatia was its cultural history. There are several museums in Split, Trogir, and Dubrovnik we want to see. Help us with the tickets!

We're trying to stay budget minded on this trip, but we gotta have a few nice romantic meals on our honeymoon! The closeness of the sea and the influence of Italy just across the water makes seafood a specialty.

The fabulous waterfalls of the national park at Krka is one of the day trips we plan to take. Help us with travel costs and entrance fees!

Croatia and the Dalmation coast are famous for the wines. Help us pop the cork on a few!

Speaking of liquor, most of our friends know we love the dark beers. If you contribute, I promise we will raise a glass to you in toast!

Help us look more European! An afternoon sipping coffee at a local cafe while watching the "tourists" go by might help.
