Audrey McSperitt & Scott Schmidt
Hello and welcome to Scott and Audrey's honeymoon registry!
We are so glad that you will be joining us on our special day. This registry was set up to give our guests the option to contribute toward our honeymoon trip instead of giving a traditional gift. Scott and I are very excited about our trip to Ireland and we would like for you to be a part of it.
Some of you might ask, why Ireland? When we started talking about where we would go we quickly ruled out the beach and the mountains, so that didn't leave a lot of choices. We both knew that we wanted to go on a really amazing trip and neither of us has been outside of the U.S., save Canada. Ireland has always been a place we both wanted to visit since Scott grew up playing Irish music and Audrey has Irish ancestors. Needless to say, our choice was made.
The next step in the process came as a very interesting coincidence. It just so happens that one of Audrey's coworkers overheard her discussing the Ireland trip and mentioned that her aunt lived in Ireland for years and is now a travel guide...Bingo! We got her contact info, gave her a call and in no time we had a wonderful itinerary planned by someone who really knew what she was talking about. A great big THANK YOU to Auntie Di for all of your invaluable knowledge and advice.
So that is how we got to this point. Now the tickets are purchased, the rooms are reserved and we are so excited we just might bust! Now if only the wedding would just hurry up and get here... We can't wait to tell you stories and show you photos of all of the wonderful things we'll see and do (and hear!).
With Love,
Scott & Audrey

Following the wedding and reception, our first night of wedded bliss will be spent at the Ambassador Hotel in downtown Tulsa, Ok. The following morning we will enjoy a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel restaurant, The Chalkboard, before departing for the airport. The next 17 hours or so will be spent winging our way to Shannon, Ireland. From there our trip itinerary will go as follows:
October 19th - Westport
We will arrive in Shannon, Ireland around 8:00 a.m. local time. On our way to Westport we will stop outside the village of Gort for a quick tour of Thor Ballylee, a 14th century Burke tower house that was once the summer home of Irish poet, William Butler Yeats. Upon arrival in Westport, we will check into our B&B, The Boulevard Guesthouse, and go on a walking tour of the town. Our first day in Ireland will conclude with dinner at the Lemon Peel and a traditional session at Matt Malloy's pub, owned by the flute player of the famous Irish band, the Chieftans.
October 20th - Galway
We will start the day with a full Irish fry prepared by our hosts, and then check out and continue our adventure with a trip to Ashford Castle. That afternoon we will stroll through the Claddaugh (an old fishing village), view the Spanish Arch and the Spanish Walk, and tour St. Nicholas Church (where Christopher Columbus stopped to pray on his historic journey), which was built in 1320. We will return to Galway that afternoon and check into our B&B, The Ivies, then do a bit of shopping before dinner at McDonough's fish and chips shop, which (according to our guide) is the best fish and chips we'll ever have. That evening we will attend another traditional session at The Crane.
October 21st - County Kerry
Wednesday morning we will wave goodbye to our hosts Darry and Carmel and take a slow, scenic drive through the Burren. We will stop to eat lunch and enjoy the view at Monck's Pub in Ballyvaughn. Next is a music shop in the village of Doolin (well known for music) and then on to the breathtaking view from the famous Cliffs of Moher (a.k.a. the "Cliffs of Insanity" in the movie "Princess Bride"). From there we'll catch the ferry at Killimer and travel through Conor's Pass to Dingle, where we will check into the Tower View B&B. Dinner that evening will be at Fenton's, one of the award winning restaraunts in Dingle, followed by a music session at one of the local pubs. (are you noticing a theme here?)
October 22nd - County Kerry
We will awake to baaing sheep and quacking ducks since our adorable B&B is set on a farm. After breakfast we will take a tour of the Dingle Peninsula with Timothy Collins, local historian and archaeologist, on Sciuird (name of his tour company). We will also take a ride out in the Dingle bay to visit the town's most famous resident, Fungie the dolphin. The rest of the day will be spent exploring the charming seaside town of Dingle and its wonderful shops. That evening we will enjoy another tasty meal and toe-tapping music session.
October 23rd - County Kerry / Ennis
A leisurely drive from Dingle will take us to Inch Beach for a seaside walk, then through Tralee, Limerick headed toward Ennis. On the way we can stop at Bunratty Castle, a beautifully restored 15th century castle set on the grounds of Bunratty Folk Park, a "re-creation" of rural Irish life in the late 1800's. Once in Ennis we will visit the Biddy Early Brewery (Scott is looking forward to this) for a tour and a taste of their all-natural brews. That evening will be spent at Tom Cruise's (no relation) pub in Ennis before resting our heads at Cill Eoin guesthouse.
October 24th - Ennis
Our last full day in Ireland will be spent seeing more of Ennis and the surrounding areas, followed by another wonderful evening of dinner and music.
October 25th - Shannon
We will enjoy our last full Irish breakfast before packing up, waving goodbye, and making our way back to the airport for the flight home.
