Hey everyone!
Thanks for checking out our honeymoon registry. We are so excited to see everyone at our wedding this Labor Day weekend. We can't imagine the joy we will feel when we see all of the special people in our lives all in the same place. We are grateful to everyone who is traveling from out of town to witness one of the most important days of our lives.
When we began to set up the traditional registry of household items, we realized that we are off to a good start with the amount of "stuff" we already own, and that you can only register for so many handy kitchen appliances before you run out of counter space and/or energy to bake homemade bread. The honeymoon registry is a great way to share our honeymoon plans with our friends and family, and to help pay for what we consider to be the trip of our lifetime. The memories that we will make on this trip will warm our hearts well into our old age. We will always be grateful to our generous friends and family who helped make it possible!
We're going to The Greek Isles!
Ted and I will fly out of Portland the Monday after our wedding to begin our honeymoon to Greece! When we arrive in Athens, we will take two day to rest after the long flight, and take in as many sights as we can before we head out to the islands.
First we will take a high speed ferry to the island of Santorini. We will stay in the town of Fira Town, perched high up on the cliffs towering over the caldera. Other than taking in the gorgeous sunsets, we will spend some time on the black sand of Perissa Beach.
After three nights in Santorini, we will head off to the island of Naxos. Naxos is one of the largest and greenest islands in the Cyclades. It is not as large of a tourist attraction as Santorini, and therefore should have a more authentic Greek atmosphere. We plan on doing lots of hiking through the fertile valleys, checking out some of the 13th century Venetian castles and monestaries, seeing ancient ruins and, of course, relaxing more on some of the best beaches.
After our adventures on the islands of Santorini and Naxos, we will head back to the mainland to Athens, where we will stay one night before heading home on the morning of the 11th. I can't think of a better way to spend the first 10 days as newlyweds!
