Traveler's Joy Honeymoon Registry
Kecia Brown & Joe-Joe McManus
Hello Family & Friends!

Welcome to our wedding page! As you know, we're not doing a traditional wedding. We are following in the footsteps of Joe-Joe's Grandparents, and getting married in a simple courthouse ceremony. It certainly worked for them; Grandpa Joe and Grandma Amy were happily married for more than 50 years! We'll be getting married in Los Angeles, CA, Kecia's hometown, on August 6th, 2009.

We want to thank each of you for all of the support that you have shown us over the past five years, and for supporting us as we move forward in our lives together. Who would have imagined on that random August day in 2004 when we met at Santalynda's place, that we were entering into a conversation that would lead us to a bi-coastal romance, a big move to New York, and our next and biggest move - marriage.

Although we're not having a formal wedding, we are planning an exciting honeymoon in Montego Bay, Jamaica. In all of our travels, neither of us has been to Jamaica. We're really looking forward to a relaxing and romantic week away on a beach to start off this next phase of our lives together.

As we started to let you know our plans, many of you asked where we were registered. At the time, we hadn't thought of a traditional registry, because we figured we really don't need any new towels or appliances (Kecia is a big fan of Target). Then, our travel agent suggested that we register our honeymoon.

So, if you are so inclined, we would appreciate any help with our travel expenses so that we can enjoy our first days as husband and wife in Jamaica! We truly understand that the economy has taken a toll on everyone's finances, so any size gift you give will be greatly appreciated. In addition, we'd love it if you would send us a card of encouragement. We both save cards and letters because the words of our loved ones mean so much to us. We look forward to being able to look back, after many years, at all the kind words of congratulations from everyone on the occassion of our wedding; Kecia sitting under a mango tree, and Joe-Joe in his rocking chair. Our mailing address is: 3245 Corlear Ave. Apt. #1, Bronx, NY 10463.

Finally, we are planning to have a reception/one year anniversary party next summer (2010) on the east coast. We hope everyone will be able to make it! Details to follow of course.

With Lots of Love,
Kecia & Joe-Joe

After traveling to Los Angeles for the wedding, we'll be headed for Montego Bay, Jamaica for the honeymoon. We'll be staying at the original Sandals resort hotel. From what we hear the beach is beautiful, the city has a lot going on, and the hotel is very nice. You can check out the hotel at www.sandals.com/main/montego/mo-home.cfm

Most importantly for us, we should be able to have a relaxing and romantic week away from our work and studies. We love New York (ok Joe-Joe loves it and Kecia has started to like it), but it will be great to get away.
Our Flights: We'll be headed to Los Angeles twice (once to get the marriage license and then for the big day), and then to Jamaica for the honeymoon! Any gift toward our flights will be greatly appreciated.
